Opposites attract, she was a city girl and I will always be a country boy. we other than a few things have totally different interest, I let her do what she enjoys and vice versa, we still do plenty together but we don't over crowd each other. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:D

Looks like the holiday is ready to end. Having it in the middle of the week is sort of odd because it messes with schedules, but to be honest, I don't know how else it could be done. We didn't do much at all, certainly nothing "holiday" related. Didn't even BBQ. Too hot to go or do anything.

Similar here. Oddly, WWW slept in (rare). Kiddo got up with me, had breakfast and went back to bed too  I finally got 12 lodgepole pine seedlings in the ground, and some annuals in the lady bug tire planter. Almost over the heat exhaustion from Monday. We'll take a ride down the to other side of the lake by the dock and the campers after dark, but fireworks are odd here too this year. Some last weekend, a few the last couple nights and tonight is to be seen. Anyway turns out one of the bigger fires in Colorado right now (100+ homes burned down so far) is due..... to.... some dumbass shooting tracers. Red flag day with fire restrictions in place. :heidi:

I'll find out today. If it is going when I get home it worked, if not, it will be hot and I'll turn it on manually.

Just a little illustration on what a couple of hours cooling in the morning can do:

Yesterday morning I left the house at 7 am - I closed up the windows just before I left and the house temp was 74*. The windows had been open, with fans going since about 9 pm the night before. I got home about 11:30 am and the house temp stayed at 74-75* until 1:30 (when the sun begins hitting the south and west sides of the house). By 3:30 indoor temp had reached 82 degrees and I started up the A/C.

This morning I left the house at 4:30 am and the house was at 78* (69* outside). So, I figure it will hit 82* earlier this afternoon that yesterday, so set the AC to go off in 10 hours (from 4:30). Should start up at 2:30 - assuming I finally got the button pressing right.

spent yesterday assisting with a trenching operation to provide power and communications to our tractor shed. don't need much down there so we just ran dual 2" PVC. planning to install fiber to all the buildings for IP cameras.

I started this trench digging under the saw mill roof in decent material with my 25HP boomer tractor. got too tough for that as soon as I was clear of the building - a tumbled stone layer. Sean got his 570 Case, went about 5 feet and blew a packing on the swing. He wasn't making any progress anyway. Moved to the Koering 465 excavator with a 1 yard bucket. Now we're talking! in 100 feet we got out of the stone and into a beach sand layer. I left at about 4PM, overheated. But we had layered sand / pipe / sand / warning tape / decent material / and tumbled stone to the 100 foot stretch, and hauled away the extra material. the rest is dug, and all we need to do is lay pipe and cover as it's all sand.

We'll finish it Saturday. Sunday a replacement deck building party at my son's.

Had a nice picnic lunch with everyone that my Kathryn put on, with some help from a couple other of the girls. much appreciated burgers, macaroni salad and some other sides.

We raced with Bentley back in the mid 2000's....Silver Crown & some midgets. Crazy but really a lot of fun. Helped us get sponsorship from Boot Hill Saloon when we raced the Copper Classic in Phoenix in 2005. Bottom pic...that's me in the back w/ the sunglasses on. Racing w/ JJ Yeley for 4th at lap 65/100 and cam broke. :(

At least they are helping out. How much is the compressor?

Mine ended up being just a recharge....hopefully. As I mentioned, it held a vac so thats a good sign. IF it were the compressor, I was going to wait until I had the timing belt done as the real majority of the labor would have been done anyway to get to the belt.

I'm on salary - I don't get breaks. However, I can run out for a couple of minutes when I need to. I was in at 5, will leave at 6:50. be back by 7:15. I can't sleep in anyway - even on weekends I wake up early. Plus, there is a reason I get here early - traffic will add another 15 minutes easy to my normally 45 minute commute.
