Larry I'm sitting in a nice A/C living room waiting for the boss to get home she had an appointment with her Doc this afternoon. I try to stay in when it is like this outside.

Was 98*, heat index of 108, dew point 78 when I got out of work at 1:30 today. Currently 86*, heat index 98, dew point 74 at 6:30. House is 74* . Was 72* when I went for my daily morning 1 mile walk at 5:30 AM today. Didn't do the 2nd mile I usually do after I get home, just too f'n hot.
Finding as Lori & I get older we don't need the AC to turn the house into an icebox, just cool enough so it feels comfortable when coming in from the heat.

Similar here. The curious thing is we came from a hotter place, so our "hot and cool" in the summer temps are different now . The winter though, those remain high in the house.

I can find a manual for a NPPAC12HKM - But the remote, nor the display look anything like the ones shown in that manual. After looking at the remote, it doesn't have a clock, so the timer is only to set when to shut it down or start it up (according to the manual for the other unit). It seems to be able to be set up for a run time, but what I tried this morning didn't do it since it was running when I got home.

On another note, it was 80 in the house when I got home, I checked a thermometer and it said it was 80* in the house (unit was set at 77 or 78). I turned the temp on the A/C to 82 because it was too cool for my liking. It is now 84 and it is perfect (there seems to be a 2* differential between the height of the unit and where I have a couple of thermostats and a thermometer at about chest level)

I'm originally from KS, so my hot and native NH hot are two different things. Okay, I haven't lived in KS for 30 years so my hot is still cooler than what my family deals with - but they all have A/C whereas I never have had it since leaving my parents house in 1980 (and living in KS another 7 years before moving here).

The really nice thing about AC is the ability to breath better. Hunting for my breath in the heat tires me out quickly.

I never liked the heat anyway. Always liked it chilly until taking the beta-blocker.

One version or another of acyclovir. That can cut the duration of the pain that comes with shingles by speeding up the healing.

    Not so different...
I have never used the A/C in my truck... I like the windows opened.
    House... is different.
When it is over 80° dead air inside and so humid I stick to everything... I "need" the A/C ..
Go ahead... call me a Weenie... I can take it

Worked ESPECIALLY good, in the earlier models with actual vent windows... open them all the way,
to act like an air scoop... awesome... miss those windows..

She hasn't had any pain, it looks like a very mild case. It (to me anyway) appears to be clearing up.
