Last year and the year before I had to go to Vermont for weddings. I couldn't find them anywhere while I was there, let alone for $2 and change a bag. Nice score.

Summer of 2014 I had someone come in and hang sheetrock in the garage. I had removed it all to replace the insulation. Only one wall - it was the ceiling that I wasn't going to tackle by myself (they also hung all the exterior wall sheetrock on the main floor - figured a lot faster and better to pay someone to do it all in just a couple of days)

Anyway, that sheetrock has just been sitting there with mud on it, and nothing else. I have changed that The wall has been painted and new wall switch / electrical outlet covers put in.

The cinderblock portion also got cleaned and painted, but I didn't get a picture before I put the metal shelves back in that corner.

As I was unloading the pellets I picked up last night, I remembered to get a picture of the cinderblock wall - only painted in that section, but much brighter than it was.

I am sooo glad to get rid of some of the green - still have to work on this wall, but probably need to do some repair on it first.

Oh, the ceiling - well, 1/3rd of it is painted. Just didn't want to get to close to the bike. That hole in the ceiling is now covered by a plate (when I had the lights wired in, he added that electrical box in case I ever get door opener).

I also did a whole bunch of caulking around that back window (previous post), the entry door, and the corners where the sheetrock and cinderblock met. Lots of foam caulk backing went in there too.

Hey, progress is being made. And my shoulder doesn't hurt too badly. I'll take it easy for another couple of days so I don't do a major strain on it again.

The damm thing only took 1 shot, no need to spray lead around.

I use CCI Mini Mag HP, just to be sure. Late 1960's 340 B-A Mossberg target bolt, Weaver scope, pin driver. My dad bought it for me....my first real gun, after the Ben Franklin pump .22 pellet gun.

I haven't tested the firing pin on my 30-30 in a very long while. Haven't chase white tails in years. Now the single shot straight pipes have been kept busy.

I think I'm using Winchester ammo in the .22 these days used to use Remington Hornets. All I know is that the ammo is old. Probably 1980 something, the stuff for the straight pipes is 1970 or so, I even have some 16 in short brass.

I haven't touched a gun since I got out of the service. I don't own one and don't think I ever again will. I have absolutely no issues with those who do own guns, esp. those who are responsible gun owners, hunters and for self protection. My son will shoot the invasive critters. I think when one is eliminated, another one sees that as an opportunity to move on in. The chipmunks are so thick around here. I don't mind them, but my son thinks they are a destructive nuisance.

Chipmunks are a non-issue w/ me......they're so small, eat nuts & seeds and just dig little tunnels. Woodchucks, on the other hand, ARE an issue. Anyone with a garden can tell you that. Funny....them and the squirrels around here are getting a weird form of lead poisoning.

yep....I have a garden. Ive got chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits.....we have an understanding....don't go into the garden, and I am good with you hanging around....and it seems to work (well, that and the 2' chicken wire fence around the garden keeping them honest).....but those woodchucks don't seem to respect those boundaries.....they will tunnel under the fence in minutes and decimate the garden. And for that, they must die. When I see them. As soon as I see them.

That is the reason for the guns around here, I shoot woodchucks, damm things won't leave a garden alone. I use whatever is handy and a have no heart trap.

Nothing says Redneck like using newspaper and painter's tape to block the sun from the garage windows. Supposed to be wicked hot and sunny the next couple of days and the cooler I can keep the SW facing garage, the cooler the basement stays. I could definitely feel the difference as I was putting up the makeshift shade, so at least it helps.
