Art said he had no issue finding the house. Something about a car (that he never saw before, at least not in person) then he recognized the truck.
Did have to move about 20ish bags downstairs to join the rest, but mrs mikeSs helps.

I have 4 beers from a six pack of bud light I bought a while back. It says, best by 23 Jan 17. it looks ok and had a little fog come off it when I opened one. Haven't tasted it. Can that be "bad" ?

It will be fine. Mostly sunlight will destroy the beer. I have had beers in the fridge for a tear and a half and they are fine.

Ok, just siped it. Taste like, well, like beer. Reminded me of the one I had a year ago. I just ended my antibiotics so this won't bother that. I am 8 hrs out from my other meds so this is about the only window of opportunity I have.

I was asked this yesterday so I looked it up on Google. The answer I got was the Grey is New England style, cured with salt and the red is the rest of the country, cured with salt and saltpeter. IIRC saltpeter is the stuff the Army gives new recruits in basic training to keep the shower drains unclogged.

poor recruits were too frightened of the DIs to have that as a problem. I used to hear about saltpeter, but never saw any of it. Just those damm salt pills they used to hand out. We used to flush them down the toilet. You didn't want to get caught not having swallowed your salt tablets.

I ain't gonna fix what is wrong myself so might as well take it in and let them tell me the options.

They didn't have the line that they offered to try to patch. I declined and had them order a new one. I may go look up the code at some point before I take it back in in a couple of weeks just for giggles. No diagnostic fee.

Sad story - The service writer, who has worked there for at least 2.5 years came to me wit a diagram of the system that was marked with the line that is bad. She said (and I do quote), "it's this line here.". I asked if it was the gas line or another line and she said its a gas line - it comes from the gas tank. Well, yes and no, and the diagram was small and I couldn't read anything. While she was back asking another question of the mechanic, evidently she mentioned my questioning which line it was.

Turns out he said it is the EVAP line - which I believe. Gas line, nope, wasn't believing that (well, not blindly believing that).

I just find it sad that I, with very little knowledge - just lots of questions, seemed to have more of a clue than the service writer.

But, knowledge is power. Pretty cheap tool, IMO. Having the code(s) ahead of time can help you make sure that they are only "fixing" what is really wrong. Repair shops/dealers are well known for "throwing parts" at a problem hoping one is the right one. Just saying.

If there was a check engine light on the dash, the code reader may have been able to lead you right to the EVAP issue.....then you would have known it wasn't a gas line.
