Got both stoves cleaned this morning - everything but LBT since I did that less than a ton ago. Shower taken, trash gathered for dump run then take the truck to the shop to check what the Check Engine Light is all about. Hope it's not expensive :emptywallet::emptywallet:! Maybe pick up a Power Ball ticket - maybe I'll be able to afford a new truck ;)

Had several large branches down from an old pine. Mostly mulch now, and a few nice pieces for the wood pile.

Had to cut up the turnip for the wife. She can't manage a knife safely when cutting up really hard stuff. After I had it in my cart yesterday, I came across a package all cut up. I'll try to remember that for next time. House is starting to get that "aroma" of the corned beef and root veggies. The cabbage goes in during the last two hrs. of cooking. I found a nice corned beef (flat cut) yesterday. The market sells the shrink wrapped ones and they they brine their own. The ones they brine are flat cut, very lean, but gray in color. I never have eaten meets that are gray. Looks spoiled. Anyone every try the gray type? I didn't dare to bring a gray one home for fear it would be tossed out.

My wife grew up eating the grey. I grew up on the red. Since I cook, I make the red. This year however, I dropped the ball and they were out of red. So, I got grey. Only difference really is the grey is leaner.
