I wouldn't move the logs to our sawmill at the museum knowing they have EAB infestation. but I pains me to cut a 28" ash for firewood that I don't need. We'll see if the woodpeckers win this battle - perhaps the tree will survive a while longer. We have woody, hairy, yellow bellied, and pileated in the yard, the first three will go to the feeder, the pileated will not.

yup, it was too funny and appropriate not to share.... (think Will711!)

Tomorrow the local channel is calling for 3-6" of white stuff for my area. WUG is saying basically ~1". Ehh, at least I won't have to deal with as strong a wind as those on the coast, or the astronomical high tides that will occur during the storm. As long as it is done by Friday night since Saturday morning I have to drive to a class that is about 30 miles away and will be there for 8 hours. So need to clean up the mess before leaving at 7 am.

I'm more interested in what WUG is forecasting for next Wednesday.

I can hear a train coming miles away but can't hear a phone sitting next to me ring. It's all about the frequencies of the noise. I struggle with voices, soft spoken people I can't hear either. I won't join in conversations because I can't follow them.

Was snowing like h3ll when I left my house this morning. Already had more than WUG forecasted for the entire storm (and is still forecasting). Already 1.5" or so and snowing so hard I couldn't see the road (or trees at the side of the road) while driving 25-30 mph. Roads were warm but it was snowing so fast that it was slushy and very slick underneath a white blanket. Got 13 miles from home and it started turning to rain and then then it was just rain about 1/2 a mile later. Radar shows it is still snow at my place though.

Yep, this is pretty much what I experienced coming from near the top left corner of the picture to the bottom right corner

Very windy here. Raining. Predicting very high winds. Ground isn't frozen so maybe trees will tip over. No idea what this will do to the ice jam in the Kennebec. Coast Guard has sent in the ice breakers but they can't reach the ice jam because the bridge is too low for them to go under it. Full moon so the tides will be high. Anticipating some flooding.
