Hell just to be contrary, I think I'll empty my ash pan into the horizontal portion of my vent just for giggles.

Well it seems about everyone is cleaning their stoves, so someone must be getting theirs all dirty. Over at the other place there are tons of really nasty rotten ones and they claim to ... well you all know what gets claimed.

If it were just one I wouldn't think so much of it but there are far more than one.

Smoke would even be amazed at some of the abuse heaped upon several AE units.

Wildwest you would likely lose it big time.

I do not understand how down right careless people can be with something that can kill you in so many ways. The manuals are certainly loaded with all kinds of cautions and warnings.

Common sense also seems to be lacking.

You need to clean these things?

Haven't opened the door since my last pellet test. Rather enjoying the no fuss no muss of my stove. I should clean the burn liner though, She's making the carbon build up noise.

    Maybe tomorrow?

Wait, I take that back. I did open the door to prime it when it ran out of pellets. Good thing the Mrs was at a job interview. Whew!

And she got the job by the way, Only part time, But its better than nothing.

Going out to dinner tonight to celebrate and maybe have a few

That ash and its results was curtsey of several things that weren't quite right with the installation.

The Breckwell involved is going to be looked at by a qualified Breckwell person before being put back into operation.

A poor Drolet 65 is likely on its way back for a total forensic probing by the factory folks.

You just keep up doing the deep cleans and paying attention to things like gaskets, stay away from fancy venting solutions. In short read the manual and follow.

There are also a couple of AE's that haven't been looked after in the cleaning department in the last week one had a burn back that didn't make its way to the hopper, just smoked a bit. The other one was trying to send smoke signals by getting the pellets stuck at the very bottom of the drop chute.

Dirty stove season has yet to start and looks like it is going to be a banner year. The upside is that Craigs List is likely to have some good but dirty stoves show up on it later this year.

I cleaned mine this morning for the first time. Easily went over a ton.

I even wiped it down with furniture polish. :)

(No water in the pot.. Just for looks. Much like the pellet buckets and scoop)

Well...had to come into work to salt the parking lot....yup, I'll suck up the OT! Did about 15 miles an hour the whole way in, luckily I live close to my office. Rain and freezing rain came and instantly froze to the road surface...accidents all over the place and roads closed everywhere......
