Hi guys, what should I buy to glue a gasket back on?

Pellet stove was a lot dirtier than I thought. Anyway #24 fell off when I opened that door to vacuum around the ignitor. Gasket is in great shape. (I used 2 tiny pieces of scotch tape to hold it in place to put the door back on, I'll glue it on a warmer day). Manual says order gasket and silicon kit, I don't need a new gasket. upload_2018-2-16_16-10-48.png

Yes Will, it is, thanks :) Already toasty warm here again, just want to have the high temp silicone on hand for next cleaning since I bet the scotch tape is already gone and it will fall off again as soon as I loosen the door. (and I did infact eye the duct tape hee hee)

Well that's good news , I would just go with the stove cement that Larry posted , that other stuff may give off toxic Chit , I don't know , but that was my 1st thought .

:salute:, found it, had to search Amazon more precisely, Thanks!

(also, this tube will live in my tool box in the house instead like the high temp silicone caulk tubes that froze in the garage  )

    Hi wildwest and guys,

My first time posting here! But I've been a reading member for a while. We also have an ECO 65 (this is our 4th winter using the stove, having used a Harman P61 for about 15 years prior to getting the Drolet. We loved our Harman and we love this stove!)

I would suggest using the high temp silicone- I bought an official Drolet gasket kit for our door gasket, and it does come with a silicone (I think the Permatex is silicone too?) The SBI/Drolet silicone is rated to 650 F. I've used the Rutland stuff in the past, and from what I recall, it gets brittle (and is a real pain to remove if you ever need to change the gasket again). The silicone will stay flexible, and you only need to apply enough to hold the gasket in place. As you can probably see from the gasket, Drolet doesn't use a ton of silicone on the gaskets originally!

I've been wanting to compare notes with other ECO 65 owners so if you have any questions or thoughts on your stove, I'd be happy to relate my experience. Ours is in our basement with a duct kit to duct upstairs (that was the main reason to switch from the Harman, to balance the heat upstairs and downstairs in our house, and the ECO 65 does this beautifully for us.

Nice to meet you Pete :) My Eco-65 does a great job, a few things to be desired but keeps us very warm either way.

No Doubt on very little silicone on that gasket, barely any!! Can you clarify which silicone you prefer?

From what I understand this stove is almost the same Fahrenheit Technologies Endurance 50F Information

Glad your here, fun group! And don't hold the scotch tape against me  :rofl:

Welcome, Nice to have another pellet pig join the group. Now I have to be on guard because your user name, and one of our moderator's user name is very similar. you go by pelletpete , he goes by Pallet Pete with all the a's and e's in the names, I'll be lucky if I ever get it right. Watch out for some misdirected communications!
