Soooo, after all the BS, drama and rhetoric I may have to stay with my oil company until the end of the season. Not many are taking on new accounts right now and the only reasonably priced local that will is requiring my social security # for credit check and "if we need to send to collections".

I am not comfortable giving a small local oil company my social for a needless credit check. They wont do credit card and with no social on file and credit check they want payment before delivery and my drivers license #.

I know I am old fashioned in not giving out my social but I am being unreasonable here?

Are they trying to "repair" your computer, and did they speak w/ a foreign accent?

    * And they don't accept CC? Or PayPal?

+1 w/ Pete - Stay away from them.

LOL, no it was a woman in the next town over-I do know that was the case here.

I get it, they likely have difficulty collecting people that dont pay but most will just take your credit card # and be done with it. They do not do this either, maybe dont want to pay the CC fees. It is there prerogative to have their business model any way they wish.

IIRC I have checked into this company in the past as an option but moved on for this very reason. I do know they have a really good reputation in the area but I just am not comfortable with it.

Well up in these parts we would cut them a check for the minimum delivery and leave it for them. Call it a cod job but no local oil company knows my social security number the IRS, your Employer, and your bank are the only folks that have a valid reason to have it. All others are your choice, just don't deal with them.

I'll take that reading also, so will my MD, but the new standards are lower.
    Classifications

Systolic Pressure Normal Less than 120
and Diastolic Pressure Less than 80
Elevated 120-129 and Diastolic Pressure Less than 80
Stage 1 Hypertension 130-139 or Diastolic Pressure 80-89
Stage 2 Hypertension 140 or higher or Diastolic Pressure 90 or higher
And then there is this general guideline:

Analysis of the data revealed that treatment with blood pressure lowering (anti-hypertensive) medications reduced the risk for strokes and heart failure by 35%. Further, the incidence of other cardiovascular events (for example, heart attacks) was reduced by 20%. In addition, Dr. Moser pointed out that in these large studies, the blood pressure did not consistently reach a goal of less than 140/90. Nevertheless, an average reduction in systolic pressure of only 12-15 mm Hg was enough to achieve these cardiovascular benefits.

I don't know why the SSAN number for credit check is given to out to businesses. Give the CC and leave it at that. I have Fielding for the propane. In fact, they just came this morning. Auto delivery and a locked in cost. This has been working well for me. I am not on the phone calling for gas, don't worry about the price, don't ck the tanks etc. They get paid and are happy. I get the delivery as agreed to. also happy.

Lot's of wind with wind chill of -24*C. Presently -17*C with -27*C with WC. Temps are dropping in the-20's or more tonight:shiver::shiver::shiver:

BP check by the nurse yesterday was 124/78 so the low dose of Lisinopril is doing it's thing and dr is happy with the reading calling it "excellent" :)

I'm on lisinopril as well (20mg) and mine is 122/80 all the time now. EXCEPT when they take it in the doc's office. It's always 10 pts higher. Though you wonder sometimes at the "training" these "medical assistants" have. Had one girl try and take it by wrapping the collar OVER my coat sleeve. Just looked at her and said "ahh no".

I am thinking that hell will freeze over before I get a decent bp reading. Just the way it goes. I'm 71 and have had hypertension for 40yrs. I have seen my lower number at 120. My MD says it is a wonder I didn't stroke out. Not as resilient these days, so I am very sure to take my meds as directed. My big fear is falling down and breaking something again. I fall way too easily. Once I start to go over, there is seldom any way to stop my fall. I got one hell of a concussion from a fall on the ramp. Saw stars, My head was pounding for a week. Lazy day today, didn't bother to get dressed. Had my shower and back in PJs Really nasty out today.

I used to be able to take an ACE and get good control, but no longer. Most ACE inhibitors are well tolerated and protect the Kidneys. Don't skip doses. If you start doing that, the pill will fail to be effective at all and you could have rebound. (goes back up higher than before)

I had not rested long enough for that reading and the next one was 121/70 I usually can pull the readings that are good, my system locks up and I have trouble moving when my diastolic gets to 90. It is hit or miss with blood pressure readings as they are destructive measurements without increasing recovery times. In the regular world they are called irreproducible.

Lisinopril is not changed and can be 100% recovered from the urine it is what is known as a Brazilian pit viper chemical analog. I am at next to the last dosage. My wife has been on it and a low dose diuretic for the last 25 years.

Larry pay attention to the time and you'll notice that the readings are being cached. That caching is being done by this site. This has been discussed for quite some time. I even tried to get WU to change their system over to allow https access since the folks here claim that is the correct way (Even though I don't believe that to be the case) one size and all that sort of foderall .

I was pulling some really low readings and actually brought my recording meter to show them.
