I know. Just saw the forecast. Rain Friday into Saturday with temps in mid 40's to mid 50's. Saturday the temps are dropping fast and hard before the precip ends meaning ending as ice to maybe snow. Then 7 degrees for a low Sunday. Ughhhh

Woman I work with that moved up here 1.5 years ago from Norfolk VA-Southern CA before that.

She says, "they are calling this a January thaw"
I say "It is a January that"
She says "but its lasting only 2 days"
I say" yup, that is a January thaw"
    Think she wanted to scream

I sold printers and supplies too, all I can say is I sold as many older Brother toners as I did all the ever numerous newer inkjets.

Roof had dumped all the way by the time I got home from work last night. I shoveled most of the hard-packed stuff off the driveway. Didn't have to shovel the ramp which is an oddity. Another oddity is that the snow berm on the driveway (from the roof dump) was 3-4 feet further away from the house than normal. The only thing I can contribute that too is the icing event we had after the first 7" of snow, plus the roof raking of the eaves. Once the slide got going it had enough weight, and a little distance to make some speed and jump. usually it slides directly down. I'll take it!

48* this morning - beautiful except for the massive fog making it dangerous on the back roads I drive. Couldn't see the lines, nor the trees at the side of the road. Managed to stay between the lines. Pulled over for someone with wicked bright lights and a desire to go faster than I was willing to go.

P43 only ran a couple of times in the last 24 hours. P61a has run a lot more, but between being surrounded by cold ground and having the cold-burning Maine's Choice in the hopper, that isn't unexpected.

I dont know how some of those LED headlights are legal. Even with low beam, they can be blinding to oncoming trafic.

P68 in the basement has stayed burning to keep from using oil. At 2.68 or more per gallon, I'll burn more pellets now than if it were 2.40 or lower.

The thaw is welcome to reduce some of the roof snow and get rid of the ice on so many driveways and parking lots up here. Its the heavy rain that doesnt have time to end and dry a little before the free fall that will really cause more issues. Overall I completely agree as the ice will be replaced right after it has melted

Got the truck washed last night to get off the inch (plus/minus) of salt build up off. Drove the car into work today to give it some exercise and let the truck rest :). Hopefully the car wash isn't too busy tonight and I can give it a bath too. It may not be as filthy as the truck, since I don't drive it much unless roads are clear, but it still has salt on it from several weeks ago - which can't be good for it.

Truck should get a free bath today but could use an undercarriage bath as well. I just dont like spending 8-10 bucks when the crud will be returned due to all the salt to be used this weekend. I am lucky if I wash the truck once a winter.

Some of those headlights may be aimed too high and not legal.

Didn't even look at the therm this AM. Too busy trying to stay on my feet and keep the buggy in the roadway. Ice was under the white chit...... Dumped a chit load of cal-clor everywhere. Hope I see gravel when I get home!!
