Exide makes a good battery too. Hard to beat this deal for 800 CCA or more at Wally World:

I think the Wally World are made by Johnson Controls. Tough to beat a top-line battery w/ 5 yr warranty for about $93 these days.

My only concern was that is was chosen by Nascar-not a glowing endorsement as those only need to work several times and go 300-500 miles

Nap time and I might just get one today with the house empty. The boss has gone to a family gathering and has left me to fend for myself since I'm no good in the afternoon usually (I like to take a nap).

Agreed. BJ's had my battery for under 100 bucks. Not bad and the new battery was higher CCA and cranks the engine much faster than the one it replaced-even when that one good. I noticed that immediately

Stove received a serious cleaning. Soot eater for the exhaust run, oiled the fan that gets it. Exhaust clean out had a good scrubbing.
Exhaust fan was very clean with no cruddy buildup.

New gaskets for the various clean outs.

I rarely have to replace batteries. I think the last one I replaced was on a 4-runner. I had that sucker 13 years and put 1 battery in it; the original lasted 7 years. The rest of my vehicles I've had for 4-5 years and never had an issue. But, never say "never" - so I'll pay attention!

Well :p right back at 'ya - you should've took the brownie pan. :D

Today was an excellent day - the finance stars aligned, and Natalie (and co-signer Betsy) are the proud owners of a 2014 Subaru Legacy.

Salesman (John G) and the F&I Manager went above-and-beyond, negotiated w/ the lender for full bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage to be bundled into the loan, and dropped the loan interest rate down to Tier 1 credit, @ 3.5% . Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Kept the payment at $250/mo, and saved about 3 grand on interest payments.. The folks @ Brattleboro Subaru really came through for us today.

My day went from wondering when it was going to be warm enough to pull the battery from the "Red Herring", to not having to worry at all about Natalie having a safe, reliable vehicle w/ road-side assistance included - and aside from normal maintenance items, w/ warranty coverage on -everything- under the hood, and inside the cabin.

It "may" be time for a Beer. :coldone:

Nope, that's free - and a courtesy of Logan airport / MassPort - there should be no charge for the service.
