Hydrating, hydrating and more hydrating. I did a bunch of marketing work this past week and passed out over 1000 business cards and met face to face with a few fireplace shops so hopefully work picks up soon. The guy that ran this show before me did a real number on the reputation so hopefully I can turn that around fast! Been landing jobs here and there and it is slowly picking up but I'm only working like 12 hours a week lol. Luckily the boss is letting me keep all the money I generate and once we can get 40 hour work weeks landed I'll go to hourly.

I did pick up an install though, a free one lol. A local member of the community had a house fire and I offered to install her new fireplace for free as long as the insurance company provides the material. Poor lady, her husband passed away about a year ago and she's been struggling with the bills as is. There was some type of electrical problem (old house, aluminum wiring) and she lost over half the structure.

Yep, it was him. Two tanker trucks and aggressive pace car drivers had them far below the speed limit for miles. The fedex truck towards the rear in the fast lane finally had enough, made it to the front with both trailers he was towing and the wide load let the back up pass.

I've been caught in lake effect white outs more than I care to remember. You'll go from sunshine to 'white sheet thrown on your windshield' visibility in a half mile. Scary stuff. Best you can do is slow down fast enough to not hit someone in front of you and slow enough to not get rear ended.

The stretch of I-94 where that pileup happened today is one of my least favorite sections of highway to drive on in Michigan, even when the weather is good. It's virtually all semi trucks going between Detroit and Chicago, and in between the trucks are cars weaving in and out of the lanes trying to pass. I call it the 'get in, sit down, shut up and hang on' road.

That is a good question savemoney! I have often asked myself this question. But it has to be because I like it here. Love the four seasons. The real cold can mean a lot of extra work, but most of the winter it isn't that awful cold. Keep those pellets going and stay warm my friend. Good time for a game of cards with the wife. Do you folks play? We taught our kids to play kings in the corners, scat(31). Time to teach them a couple more games.

You know, we used to play card games and board games. Lots of fun. Darn TV has taken over from much of that time. I don't care much for it, but the wife is glued to it. Just the same as the grand kids are with their I phones. When we used to go out to lunch with the grandkids, they were usually noisy and we had to keep the behavior in ck. Now they are quiet as mice. Their fingers and thumbs rapidly texting. I don't even know is the have any idea what they are wasting.

Take it when you can get it!!

Yeah, it is never a good time to be homeless buy the winter is the worst. Never mind the families that are cold because heat is so expensive.
