To be fair I used to go to London Ontario a lot and a few other places HOLY FRICKEN CRAP that was some serious lake effect cold.

When I hauled a load up into Alaska through Canada it was very cold. My eyes where bloodshot from trying to stay on the Alcan Highway. it was one of my best memories from when I was still driving truck. My heater couldn’t keep up either.

When my youngest daughter was born in 1994 in December I had to drive to Sudbury to pickup my other two siblings who was babysat by the in-law, I drove 2 1/2 hrs to pick them up and my windshield was frozen inside to a small hole visibility. Did that there and back, it was in the -40 ish for a stretch of the end of the month.

Our furnace rarely comes on. Upstairs, they use the baseboard heat. Our heat is nearly 100% from our pellet stove. Thermostats are so programmable these days. I use my Alexa for information, some calls, music, and tied into the security system. We get news and weather on it also.

How is the situation with your pellet stove circuit board going?

(There's a really funny joke in there some where with the oink bumper sticker and bar fight squeal)

New pellet stove is handling this first test perfectly. House temp never budged. It also seems to use less pellets than the old West Point. Now it only got to 12ºF, so it could have a tougher test coming. Heres to that not happening :drunk:

I figured out which solder point failed and cleaned all the old solder off then re soldered the board. It worked!

Now I have to figure out weather or not I’m gonna try and fix the blower or buy another one.. The blowers on its last leg..

The lid switch is pretty simple and I ordered a small normally closed switch to try from Zoro part numbers seem to match.

As for the burn pot well I am gonna make one next year in our metal shop at work out of scrap.

If we had to buy the parts it would cost as much as a new stove so it’s getting fixed pete style:whistle:

Everything just fell apart this year it’s pretty cheaply made stove that’s for sure... It’s 5 years old from manufacturing date. I won’t buy another PelPro.

All things considered for $400 it’s done well and helped us through 2 winters without a working furnace. The wood stove is the workhorse but I am grateful we found that stove and for all the help people here gave us so we could get going with it:thumbs:
