;) Well Seasoned is also incorrect, our cat has opposable Thumbs. He is currently trying to escape out the porch room door.. It's still nice outside here, mid-sixties and overcast. He's making good progress.

We call him Tibbs, aka: the Cat Burglar.

Point taken. Some engines are more susceptible to stuck rings then others.

In all reality I have gone 8-11K between oil changes on 2 if my last 3 vehicles. 1997 Subaru had 302K miles in and the engine was still strong when I sold it. Current 2009 Honda has 165K miles and still going strong (its the crappy Honda automatic tranny I dont trust)

You have bigger nuts then I do. I'm too frugal to buy synthetic and synthetic blends can be as much or as little as they want to add. I never have gone over 5k on conventional. Cheap insurance.

Maybe, but my miles are mostly rural, not city. That makes a huge difference as I wouldnt go over 3K if in mostly city driving.

Growing up outside of Boston, we thought a vehicle with 60K miles was done and dead (which it was). Up here, 60k is just broken in and good to go for a long time.

Oh, and a 5 qty jug of Mobil One is 23-25 bucks at Wally World-not much more than dino. The real thing is to not cheap out on the filter

Yep, Saw it and me chit list has been updated...................

    :p

Were'd the stuck ring stuff come from? Pretty sure its just carboned up intake valves on a GDI engine. Very common so I'm told. Oops never mind, artc issue??
Looks like I'll have to try that or the CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner. I couldn't get a hold of the proper cleaners to use with my bud's kit. Hoping the CRC stuff will get enough carbon of the intake valves to stop the pre-ignition sputter. Which only happens under load(uphill mostly). Already dumped in the Techtron injector cleaner in the fuel tank.

I have told the wifey to remind me to dump in the injection cleaner, But she never does. Certainly can tell me when it sputter$ though........... :zip:

I've never checked to see who our wally wart has in their jugs. I usually use the synthetic blend, But if wally has mobil 1 for less. I'd prolly consider it.

Jay....the Warren "logo" is embossed on the bottom of the container with WPP and has a small cap on it.....the bottles with the large cap and that look like a Mobil 1 jug, should contain Mobil 1 but I think it's still regional....kind of like pellets....lol I think most of the east coast Wally synthetic is probably Warren but I'm not 100% sure of that.
