I've worked for 3 different companies that have closed up. Each time I start a new company, I've had to wait up to 15 months before I can participate in the 401k program again. But, there is never a full calendar year that I wasn't able to participate, so I couldn't contribute to an IRA. Then lost 1/3 of all my retirement savings in the divorce (more complicated than that - but what it boils down to), so I don't see retiring for at least another 15 years, which would put me at 70. At that point, I might as well wait for full at 72 - unless they move it on me again, which is not unlikely.

Yeah B, I wish I could say it was due to closed companies or divorce.

Glad you got some help today in cleaning up that willow. Wish I could have helped, but this weekend was tied up.
Huge props to fishingpol !!!!

65 is when medicare kicks in(at least for now). My full retirement is near 68 IIRC. But I'm not waiting for that long.

Capped the exhaust a few weeks ago to keep early humidity out (easy to remove if necessary).

Plugged the intake yesterday and put a tub of Damp Rid in the firebox.. Declaring the burn season over here :)....maybe.

As a triage RN, my honey deals with medicare all the time. It aint what its cracked up to be.

I know someone who dropped his work insurance for medicare several months ago in an attempt to save money and is already seriously considering changing back. He has the top plans and still having issues with coverage

The plan is medicare with a rider insurance. Some say its a bit less coin that way. Don't think one could only ride with medicare with out some other insurance?

Honestly more worried about the health care costs than any other bill once on a fixed income. Also at 65 you can collect SS and still work if need be(I'd only consider part time to coup with the insurance $$). At 62 IIRC you still might need to watch the $$ made while working. Too much $$ and ya get whacked with higher taxes.

Just finished mowing the enclosed garden area, sitting down cooling off, then a hair cut and beard trim followed by a shower.

Will that looks like a top 10 breakfast but you better cook that bacon a bit longer so it's nice and golden crispy.

    THE LAND OF PLENTY...FOR SURE
We had nearly 200% of annual snow pack
Twice the normal rain fall that just did not quit.
Now we are gonna bake...... :picard:
Western Oregon has two seasons basically

    Cold and Wet
    Hot and Dry

Rarely do we see a true spring with lovely moderate weather, but rather a few hot days, then cold and wet again.
Summer is hot and dry with the occasional bit of Tstorms or a cloudy day or so.

Fall is usually the "Fleeting days" of summer and when it seems like it's gonna be a lovely fall day then it puckers up and it's winter.

Winter here is wet...wet...wet followed by a cold snap, snow and cold then more wet.

We can see temps dip into the single digits every so often and I have seen ZERO a time or two in my life.

Teens are not at all uncommon.
Snow is a sketchy thing with the way the weather works here, we can get our AZZ handed to us or only an inch or two of slop and its tough to predict.

Last winter we had several times with a foot or more (here at the ranch) and then ice on top with a nasty silver thaw.

THIS SPRING was just sooooooooooooooooooooooo wet.... then the first week of April we had the nastiest wind storm so late in the season with major power outages and a lot of trees down due to the super wet soil conditions.

This summer is off to the races with some 100 F days, then by Tuesday its back to much cooler.

We don't normally get nasty humidity with the heat though.

Current conditions here at the ranch are 78 F and 32% humidity (7:53 am PDT)
When the east winds really kick in from the Columbia Gorge the humidity can drop off the charts.
    5% is not unheard of

And then comes serious fire weather.

Ahhhh the joy of it all eh ??? :D
