Big thunderstorm last night, many warnings over the TV.....50-70 MPH wind gusts and some of the hardest rain that I can ever remember, short of hurricane-driven kind. Lots of cloud-to-cloud lightning, but not even a flake of chit later. It is cold now....36*

If all you have is W-2,s then a $30 tax software would be perfect for you (and that includes the e-file). I could do mine by hand since I only have W-2's and reporting of a couple dollars interest from savings account, but software makes it so much easier; once you've set up the first year the software will import info from previous year (name, address, marital status, employer info etc), you can change what needs to be changed ($$ amount of income and taxes paid), it checks for error or likely flags (none if you don't have deductions) and spits out the paper work. From there you can either mail them in (slow) or e-file and get a direct deposit (or request a check by mail). Takes personal chance for error to just about zero barring incorrect entry of $$ on your part.

All relatives of weasels have a skunky smell (I'm unsure about otters on that). Domestic ferrets are usually de-scented by a vet though.

Uh, isn't it required that you file regardless if you would only get a return?

I've never had an issue with rebates, so I am always surprised when people don't want to deal with them. Sure, it may take a while to get, but hey, I got $80 back from buying tires a couple of months ago. I've never worried about tracking them but most places rebates can be filed online now (some automatically file for you), and send you updates as to their status (received, processing, Okay - or not, when they mail it).

Admittedly I made the assumption that STB made more than the minimum required - maybe that was a bad assumption.

Yup very bad assumption both of us are over 65 and taxable income is under the limits for us. We run and have run a low spend level household for decades.

Been cool, then cooler and snow, then rain.

    Mixed bag this morning.
Gotta clean the big stove here in a bit as the ashes are falling back into the pot and nearly smothering the fire.

Been working on gathering parts for my "Franken Cat"
Found a set of Tracks in Tahoe, but they are buried under 15 feet of snow.

Sounds like a spring run to Cali
Spoke with a fella up in Nome Ak about a rear differential for the project and he has what I need.

Just gotta wait until spring/summer so they can get it shipped to Seattle where I can pick it up.

Building Pellet stoves was far easier

We have set all time records for rain/snow this month, and its not done yet.

Been a really really wet winter.

More days with Snow on the ground than I have seen in many years.

Four shell runs this winter, and winter is not done.

More days with 2 stoves running 24/7 than any we have had in the past.

    Been good though.

    Take care troops

80 bucks is worth it and that is something I would still do but back in the day you were chasing 5, 10, 15 bucks all over creation at times. Some vendors were easy peasy others not so much.

Me either, both front end loaders. Very energy saving. Like the access door to the clean out filter. That is always nasty, but it is worth having. I run white vinegar in my machine every so often. Helps with the odor control of front end loaders.
