its a newer version of the P38. Not the newest version, but the older, smaller form factor circuit board model. The door tells me its not REALLY old, but the two knobs tell me it isn't the most recent one either. The board is no longer available, so if it needs repaired, it would have to be rerofitted (there is a kit for this, runs around $250 or so).
The stove is no longer made, and other than the circuitboard most parts are available. $675? offer $500 cash.

well, not really. Its the same stove body, same blowers, same mechanism, but as shown, not thermostatically controlled, whereas the p43 is. The newest versions of the P38 had the ability to be thermostatically controlled though....and this one would have to be upgraded to do so....still, do-able.

I've seen a few of these on CL, with the upgraded retro-fit kit, listed at $1,000 to $1,250 over the past few months.

Well greaser , looks like its a reasonable stove for 500 if they take it. 750 is you want to put in the newer control board

Here is a thread on upgrading to a P38+ where LW suggests doing the board but not the auto ignite.

How involved is upgrading Harman P38 to P38+

Well, I cleaned the stove - found lots of ash in back of the Firex Panels, and a sizable ash plug @ the right side of Heat Exchange vent port in back..

    Now running @ 1.8 lbs/hr: (250 F average)

Yep, that is DVR and HD service. They keep throwing in HBO even though I never watch it. I'm good if I can get football, FX, local channel, broadcast TV and Sci-Fi. Oh yeah, TBS. Other than that the rest of the channels are wasted on me. I've always had good luck with Comcast, only had to see them twice for hookups and they were on time. Never have outages - even during the '08 ice storms when we were out of power for 4-5 days. All the lines were laying on the ground but when the Ex hooked up the generator and I started up the TV to play a DVD, found the cable was still good.

I've only ever used US Cellular. They are about the only company that covers my area (and was the only company for the first 10 years or so that I had a cell phone). After my last contract was up, I didn't get a new phone as my Samsung S5 is awesome, so they were able to reduced the rate by about $25 or $30. I have automatic CC payment set up so I think that is part of the deal too. December I went over my 1 GB alotment apparently so my bill went up to $72, but then last month's was back down to $58. I was going to go with their 2 GB plan (for the $72), but they went over my history and said 1 GB would be a good fit for me and if I go over it automatically adjusts to the 2 GB rate for the month.

Unlikely as the snow doesn't really amount to much actual liquid. We were better served by getting the sleet/freezing rain/rain after the snows earlier in the season (although not so good for my trying to snow blow / shovel). However, that doesn't really help those on wells since it doesn't soak into the frozen ground. My town gets their water from a local reservoir so it should be good and stocked up now.

Looked on WG and I'm at 12+ for Sun/Mon and 8-12 for Wed. I am going to be one tired girl come 9:30 PM Friday. What with my day job (and goodness knows how long the 45 minute commute will really be each way), coming home to snow blow for 1.5 hours, going to my night job, get up at 3 AM to snow blow a bit before going into my day job - rinse, lather, repeat :hair:

All this snow wont help us now, but it will in the spring, provided we get a gradual melt off.

Monday will likely be (and looks like it really should be) a day of many business closings. Blizzard conditions are now being forecast for early Monday with the winds hanging on after the snow stops around mid day. After that, WMUR looks like they are now downgrading whatever Wed night into Thursday will bring. I hope they are right.

This morning I got up and decided I need to MacGyver something to keep the roof from dumping on the back porch (that is funny, there is an actual auto-correct if you misspell MacGyver :dex:). I literally cannot open that door from the inside until I've gone out and shoveled the ramp and then the porch. And of course this season, with all the sleet after the snows, it has been a pitch to break up the compacted, heavy, wet stuff. After getting 10" of snow Thursday (roof hadn't dumped yet) and expecting over a foot tomorrow into Monday (at which point it would dump), I just wanted something to guide the snow past the railing. So I looked in my gardening supplies and found a couple of railing planters, grabbed a couple of 2x4's and 2x3's from a previous demolition job in the basement, and a couple of pieces of plywood I just brought home from work, and set to "building".

May not look like much, but proof of concept has happened as the roof dumped just after I got back from the dump and grocery store early this afternoon.

    snow break.jpg

The planters are very tight on the railing and the tops of the constructs are wedged under the metal overhang. Hopefully they will stay in place thru the gale-force winds expected this next storm. If all goes as I envision it, the planters will fill with snow making all the wedging tighter and then the rest will just keep on going to the ground.

Oh, and the roof dump earlier today? gbreda had mentioned that the wind had cleared most the snow off his roof. I guess it did the same for mine as it wasn't much of a dump. That was a good thing since it slid right onto the back of the Explorer as I had it backed up to the garage to unload the groceries and goodies from the hardware store.
