Going down to see my boy today. Leaving very soon so I can get back a do a quick clean on the E2 and relax a bit. Been a long stressful week, but there is light in the tunnel. They are going to remove his stomach and chest tubes tomorrow. Hoping the stomach tube removal goes smooth as it has been serving a few purposes, one being protection of his esophagus so it can heal properly. He wants it to go away, its the one up his nose and he hates it. Chest tube should make him more comfy and allow him more mobility. I think/hope he will make it home at the end of the week, but with a feeding tube.

The stove has been doing well, the remote t-stat has only had one hiccup this season. Mostly eating TSC dry creek UPC and some chows and a few bags of Clean fire pacific blend, Hammers and Easy heats.

    Doggy

4 kids.....still trying to get rid of one.....he is 24, cheap, and the $200 i charge him for rent (cash), is MUCH cheaper than having his own place. Of course, on the first of Feb he is 3 months in arrears......I am too nice a guy!

I have 4 as well. One is married and left a few years ago. My oldest daughter shocked us in Oct and moved out with her boyfriend. Then my youngest daughter decided to move out between Xmas and New Years and just yesterday we helped our youngest son move his stuff to his new place. We knew and hoped they would all be on there own, it's just a shock that they all left within the last few months.

Ah.....everyone sez I will miss them when they move out....I don't think so. Ive been living with children for 30 years. I long for the day (or night), when I get up for my nightly bathroom break (yay! Tamsulosin!), and I can walk downstairs in my skivvies and get a drink and not have to worry about offending another party......ah, my needs in life are so simple at this point....

Don't get too use to it yet, they come back, only with family. Every one of my four came back for a year or so while they resettled from the military and relations. Now we have one with his family here permanently. We split the house in half and added another kitchen and new porches.

What a heck of a day. Wife still down and complaining that her back hurts. So it is up to me to clean up around here. I usually do a lot of it anyway, but this time I have to do all of it. Dishes had piled up, floors needed mopping, etc. So I set out to get it done. That in addition to some of my other Sunday chores. Cat boxes, bed sheets etc. I did the grocery shopping yesterday, so today I had some nice thick center cut boneless pork chops with shake and bake, homemade applesauce, baked potato, and spaghetti squash. Bland looking, but tasted good. I have two appointments in the morning then off to the pool early afternoon.

Larry, have you tried the Oven Fry? I like it better than the Shake and Bake. Much more flavor.

haven't tried that. I usually don't have to do the shopping, but for the last month, the wife is laid up with back pain from the compression fx. Do they have it at Hannafords?

Yes. In the Winthrop Hannaford it's right there with the Shake and Bake. Pork and Chicken.

Had an issue with my modem last week- .64 download speed . Metrocast came in, tested the lines and replaced it even though the issue went away before he got there-back to normal 50MB download. Tech said my modem was older and he had a brand new / better one in the truck. Docsis 3, built in dual band wifi, WPS, 2 phone ports and 4 gigabit ports . I asked if I should still use my Netgear router for wifi and he suggested that I should as they tend to be better than the built in ones on the Arris modem. I also learned that although 5G wifi is faster, better to use 2.4 as it has more range-news to me.

Soooo, this weekend I am at my honeys and her laptop was pitifully slow-couldnt even get on here to check out the crazies. She has Xfinity and pays for 100mb download but getting under 1mb. I plugged the old and slow laptop directly in to the Xfinity modem and sure enough 94 mb download when hard wired. Turned wifi back on and it wouldnt even connect to speedtest site. She has always had terrible wifi and contributed that to how far away the modem was.

Off we went to get her a Netgear wifi router so she didnt have to use the Xfinity one. Picked up a nice one as they have multiple people streaming or gaming at one time in the house and the spot it goes is far away from the living room. Plugged it in, configured it as an access point and BOOM, she is getting as much as 74 MB download on that old laptop-at the opposite end of the house from where the router is. Also set up the smart TV that would never connect in the 2 years she had it. Netflix wouldnt work on it.

Now she ha had Comcast out more than once and they always said-wifi is running just fine and properly. My azz it was. I realize that the modem was far from the living room, but I had issues with it today 8 inches from the dam thing.

I have never used the Xfinity routers, have always bought my own so never had an issue with speed. Make sure if she was renting that other one that she returns it - may take some :emptywallet: off the bill (not much, but every little bit helps)

Unlikely she can save anything as it is also a telephone modem. Oh, and I found that they did not put a battery in the modem for power outages. :headbang:

Frankly I dont want the technicians to touch anything now that I have it running properly.
