This man has some of the most fun concerts especially back when he was solo with the Waboritas. Those concerts were a huge party !!! I went whenever he was anywhere around New England

The girls in bikinis serving margaritas were always locals and the people on stage were fans that won those tickets

When Sammy was fired from Van Hagar, Eddie Van Halen said he did it because sammy was lazy-I never did like Eddie VH. The man could play a guitar but was know for being a jackazz

 

Hey CleanFire . Thanks for that Sammy reference, it got me playing his videos and made me forget that I was outside shoveling whine for an hour at 4:45am.

I hear you on the concert - it's been a looong week here at the ranch, w/ DirecTV pulling WMUR channel 9 - and Fox 25, on New Year's Day.

Wife was major pizzed about missing the NY Giants playoff game, after the azz-hats offered the game up on one of the '700' (pay) channels & attempted to charge $50 to watch it, this after her spending the better part of 20 mins. navigating through the mess to get there.. And she runs circles around me w/ the DVR control in-hand.

New projects today / this weekend is building a KODI server, calling Dish Network, calling Fairpoint about a DSL speed upgrade, and trying to source a HDTV antenna that can pull signal through Granite Rock. THANKS AT&T.

Got a few inches of whine here last night, gotta get busy cleaning up outside, & retasking a dev. workstation to serve up home entertainment content.

Buddy of mine here at work mentioned this yesterday. I saw the warnings on WMUR last weekend but wasnt aware that it actually happened.

Last summer I switched from Dish after 8 years to Direct TV as it was perceived that we would save money over upgrading Dish. It was working, why would you change it.... Direct TV/Att have been a major disappointment. I'm tempted to drop them and pay the buy out.

 

Wifey ? THEY get their own plus part based on yours. No change to yours. He will have to do a set of both fed and state income taxes to answer any question as to benefit or not talk to savemoney and be sure you do the calculations correctly.

 

If it was up to the Boss, we would already be done w/ them.. Scrambling to put a "Plan B" in place today.

re: contract - yeah, stupid me attempted to update the SD box in the house to HD this summer, we're on the hook for another 18 months or so here. FWIW, the 'upgrade' box they shipped was defective: it doesn't work. Waste of $100+ bucks on that upgrade.

AT&T's aggressive email (stopped that) and phone marketing campaign this week, after dropping the channels on 1/1/17 amounted to 4+ telemarketing calls per day here, all without identifying Caller ID on the #'s, with the representatives hanging up after picking up the phone. Finally had enough of that chit and called AT&T directly last night / added our account / phone #'s to their internal 'Do Not Call' list.

I'm done w/ them here also, as soon as a reliable alternative solution the Boss approves of is in-place. Sigh.

I have done the Dish, Direct TV and Time warner thing. switched over and over to get the best prices. Right now, ABC is blocked. The price deal that ATT and Direct TV has with unlimited data is a hard deal to beat. I got my deal through Sam's club and got all kinds of discounts. My bill went way down. I have to say that Time warner is the one I care for least. I think it won't be long before all the tv we get or want will be over the web. I have the highest speed Internet available in this area. My phone service (voip) has a screening out option for any robo calls. Also call block. Nice features. I have to say I like getting true 1080 with Direct TV. Picture is notably sharper.

 

That's good to know was at the AT&T store today had to get a new cell old one crapped out, and they were pushing me hard to get direct TV , glad I didn't . That's another Great thing about this place honest real world opinions , thanks guys

 

Only way to go is Antenna and internet.

 

I was talking with a new provider for my town this past summer when they were running promos to launch their service. it was an all fiber connection and TV was through the internet-which was fiber based.

When I asked if the signal was 1080i (pretty much same as 720P) or 1080P (true 1080), they had no clue that there was a difference. And this was the person trying to sell me on their product and thought 1080 was 1080. They must be the same people at big box pellet counters-a pellet is a pellet

 

I would rather see gray over black if you know what I mean(cleaner burn) in case you had other thoughts
