Get him/her things to play with and at least one scratching post with the rough rope (sisal) on it.

I have several inexpensive but sturdy scratching posts around the house and they use these all the time while leaving the furniture alone. One cat loves the plastic balls with the metal thing inside as well as the round tubes with the balls inside. I think these kind of toys take advantage of their predatory nature.

Laser pointers are fun too but I have recently read that it leaves the cat frustrated since they cant actually catch it. Kind of makes sense.

Went out after 4" of the white chit had fallen and the road grader went by. Didn't want that berm to get hardened. Snowed at least 1.5" while I was out there, but I got everything blown. If I got it timed right, then there will be 2" or so of sn*w to soak up the rain that is headed this way. Prefer not to have purely glaze ice on my driveway and paths. If I didn't time it right, I'll be out blowing the chit around again. The grader hasn't been by a second time, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to at least go out and tackle another berm.

Same here. The weatherman lied again. He said 1-3" snow, then rain. We got 5" snow, no rain. Anyway it's all cleaned up, now it's time for a frosty.

P43 is nice and clean. Emptied out ash vac and banged the crud out of the filter. Went and did round 2 of snow blowing since the grader had come by just as I was finishing the P43 cleaning. Snow is done too and it is 20* out so if any precipitation comes hopefully it isn't rain or sleet!

Need to fold the laundry, load the dishwasher and do a few other things yet before my day is done. Fortunately I went to the dump Thursday so I didn't have to venture out on the roads at all today
