Well the 2009 Honda Ridgeline acted up Friday afternoon at lunchtime when it wouldnt go into 5th gear/OD. Shut it down, restarted and all worked fine. Did it again this afternoon and threw a PO842 Tranny Fluid Pressure Switch code. Reset the code with the scanner and had been OK since. Hopefully just a fluid change is needed but it may be a switch as well. Funny thing is the code points to 2nd clutch, but I would more suspect 4th clutch switch-or tranny fluid.

BUT, I called the owner of the company and told him I am not risking the ride to work tomorrow in the storm if it acts up. I have to bring a cat to the vet for surgery first thing and if it even hiccups, I am staying local-and that means no work.

Thanks to the media, everyone freaks out for a couple inches of snow.

I dunno Smoke, on the '00 Camry here trans. fluid had about 120,000 miles when received, the trans. was shifting pretty harsh / the fluid was brown and spent.. Ended up doing a full 12 qt. fluid exchange, trans. has been shifting like new since that.

I checked the fluid on Friday after the first hiccup and there wasnt anything really showing on the stick-I know thats not a great way to check for metal but it also didnt smell burnt.

Its likely one of the pressure switches and from what I have seen on the code its not internal. Dirty fluid was mentioned as a possible cause of the code as well. Heading out to the vet around 8am and likely just going to stay home. I dont want to be stuck while the whine is falling hard.

Even if I go in to work, I have to leave early to pick up the little guy so I might as well just burn a vacation day that I was suppose to have used by end of Nov. I have 6-7 unused days.

Weatherman (and women) are the new rock star gods. Its the doom and gloom ones that create havoc. Trick is to know which ones blow things out proportion and the ones that dont. Its when the ones that dont start warning that you really need to pay attention.

Might have got it if it didn't change to rain. I cleared the deck and steps JIC. About 5 inches total.

Ride in was fun. Many a slow poke doing 30 And these tires stink in slop. But I made it in with time to spare. Glad I went out and gassed up Sunday. Popped a wiper blade off while cleaning the crap off. Couldn't see chit, Had to go back in and get a flash lite to see what the heck I was doing. Luckily it just popped off and nothing was broke. I guess it was a bit stuck to the windshield when I tried to lift it to clear under it. I'll be more careful next go round. Or because I get my time back the 1st, Just say screw it and stay home. ;)

Do you mind me asking, how many people do you usually feed every day? I've never seen so much food cooked up as you make.

Got the candles in the windows, my brother and his wife were here yesterday. Have the 7 foot version of our tree up and some lights on it. Frosty is up and about, might put the rest of the lights and garland on the tree today before I go down for a nap.

I am home, but working from home - started at 5:30. Did take a break from 9-10 to snow blow and shovel the 6" of white chit (they said rain would start about 10 and I didn't want that mess on my hands - of course no rain yet). Now taking lunch because no one is emailing me back, so have gotten as far as I can.
