Does anyone do Wood Pellet Smoker Service?
The fire glass has no air wash! So man does it get dirty & greasy!
The smoke stack umbrella is full of grease!
What is the best way to clean the meat probe?
What do you do for your annual your wood pellet grill cleaning?

After it was cleaned we did pork ribs at 320 Degs f until the meat probe read 165 Degs F in the meat and they came out awesome!

Run it hot. A pizza for 30 minutes at 500 cleans it up fine. I see no need to clean the chimney.

    Thanks, good idea.
I did vacuum out all the ash around the burnpot since there is no ash pan but maybe there will be on the next generation of new models? :)

All of the brands are a bit different but my Englander needs a burn pot cleaning on occasion. Keeps the igniter clear to the pellets.

This summer I’ll be repainting the outside. Lots of rust.

I have been keeping the pellet grill inside out of the weather?
    Do you leave it outside?

The Englander pellet pot is similar but with a few holes instead of those louvers. It’s cast iron. I scrape the pot sides with a plastic spoon or similar sized stick and then vacuum out the pot and the holes with a stout shopvac. That’s it really. I brush the grates with a nonmetallic brush each time the grill runs. If there is loose stuff on the interior I will brush the interior too. I don’t mind the loose stuff but I don’t want it falling onto the food.

I store mine up against my single story house under a 2 foot deep eave so only wind blown rain gets it wet. Roll it out for use.

Made two tri tips last night. Sear at 500 for 5 minutes on each side on the cast iron grill, then crank down the heat to 300, relocate meat to the bbq rack and roast to 150 internal temperature. A nice medium.

Good info, great idea on the tri tips too!
I learned my lesson on the old Weber gas grill with the paint inside the hood peeling and flaking so I was nervous that if I was not very careful it would fall into the food. Therefore I spent the extra $50 and got the pellet grill with the stainless steel hood.

I will try the tri tips if I can find out a good place to get them over here in NE.
    Thanks.

My pitboss is similar with round hole as well. I kind of like those louvers though.

Saw a SS one, But can't remember if it was rec tec or gorilla grills? Round hole too.
