It's really hard to say Steve because my stove is always on low. I really can't tell much difference in anything I burn. I sure wouldn't pay what they are currently asking for them. Next year I'm just buying what ever I can get cheapest.

Yeah, not sure what they are thinking with their pricing. Their softies are cheaper than the hards... :loco:  and IMO both way overpriced

now that I have used stove[constant mode] on my harman a lot more this year, I agree that
biggest difference is ASH. Stove mode just kept the house a constant 75 all winter.. and only on half thrusters Capt...:yes:

With the rain and todays sun we had a lot of melt. Supposed to be warmish again tomorrow with cooler temps but sunny during the week. We should lose a lot by next Sat. I hope anyway. My sump pump is running a lot.

I'm just a couple bags shy of what I used for the 2016-2017 season. That year it was 265 bags starting 9/27/16 which was about 18 days later than this year - and had only used 4 bags by October 15, 2016. Burning ended 6/3/2017 but I only used 7 bags in April, 5 bags in May and 1 in June (I would be happy repeating those April-June numbers this year).

Last year I used 285 bags - started 8/31/17 (about 10 days earlier than this year) and ended 5/1/18. That year I was at 253 at the end of March and used 28 bags in April (please Lord, don't let that repeat this year!)

I don't have precise numbers but I am close to half that. Milder temps and split firewood burns on stove.

Man, you guys burn lots of bags compaired to what we burn here in Norther California. We have pretty mild weather in the Fall and Winter. Lots of rain this year and wind.

I didn't buy by the pallet this year because of storage problems, but I think I have burned about 70-80 bags for the season. My average is 60-100 a season. I'm sure we are paying much more than you guys pay for pellets. We are up to just over $6.00 per bag for most pellets here. I usually burn Bear Mountain or Golden Fire, and only get others when I can't get those two. Been burning pellets for just over 20 years. Bags were just under $3 per bag for Golden Fire when we first started.

The Douglas Firs from the Pacific Northwest should be cheaper for you there

There are some pellets that are a bit cheaper, but they don't burn that good and we use more of them. When you say "Douglas Firs" are you talking about the trees or is there a pellet with that name?
