yes your correct. in stove mode I only get maybe 10 hrs or so out of a bag when temps are in single digit or lower with winds like in February. wide open on my side of house with Lakewinds to boot. OAK faces the wind also. ..regardless of pellets it seems. Room/Manual/ 74 degrees/ feed # 3 to #4 gives better burn time.. Before the Siberia single digit temps of February I was approx 14hrs or more per bag...Stove chows/Energex Hardwoods/ O'Malley's etc.. didn't matter. so it then becomes a priority of low ash pellets.. example is I did a full soup to nuts clean yesterday which includes the outside exhaust.[ I do a good stove clean every 2 weeks. anyways was amazed at all the crud that was in my pipe.. I did burn 3 tons before the Exhaust clean but that was 1/2 ton Chows and 2 tons of Energex Hardwoods. Good Heat but lots of Ash..Rather stay with cleaner burning pellets from here on in... Energex low ash Golden pellets are my main burn now but I will def keep softwoods in mind for next winter also. ."We're Gonna need a Bigger Truck." my 4 cyl 92 Toyota pickup only good for 1/2 ton weight. only 81K original miles.
