I've tried 802s excellent pellet but I feel a little overpriced . I think Energex which are FSU at Home Depot would give you the best heat for the money . :fire:

Welcome to the forum vtktm802 ! :handshake:

That's a fair price for LGs, they are also bagged/sold under the 'Satisfaction' label in the US / Canada.. They're the exact same pellet.

$275.00/ton is the going rate in this area, give or take a few dollars.. Dealer's price is good.

We really like the LGs here - low fines & dust, very good -> to excellent heat, lower ash than many we've tried.

Primary woods are Black Spruce and Grey Pine.

    * These pellets like to be roasted: the pellets s/b glowing brightly in the burn pot .. if burning dull, dial up stove air a notch or two to get that pine burning.

That's an excellent price for 802's ! Roast these too, your burn pot should glowing bright like the surface of the sun in there. :D
Interested to hear how they both burn for you. We can't burn 802's here - wife's allergies to certain species of pine. :( :heidi:

( The one test bag we did burn was -excellent- back in '14-'15 though. )

Have fun playing in the snow! :salute:

Yeah, heating from the basement is a crap shoot. For some people it works well, for others it doesn't. I now have two stoves in my 1,600 sq/ft house; started with the P61a in the basement and just couldn't get the air flow to get enough heat to the main flor. Ended up getting a second stove for the living area.

Now I have a 60k btu stove not hardly working heating the 650 sq/ft basement (to be fair, some heat does come upstairs) but I didn't have the clearances needed to move the stove to the main floor. On the bright side, unless I run out of pellets or electricity, I can't imagine a winter cold enough that I won't have all the BTU's I need

My basement stove really, really liked Cubex and if you can get them for 5.50/bag - that is a great price.

Agreed both my stoves love em but the prices you are getting softies for heck try them all and see what works best with your stove, but I would definitely try the Cubex.
