Now who's a hater? Regardless, I am building a new wood shed and the timing of this clearly nonsanctioned challenge was right, you've only added my desire to kick ur butt....
I'm interested. Are we talking firewood related items or anything goes? I'd be more up for anything goes. I need to work on some basement workshop organization and could probably use pallet wood for some of it.
How about outdoor category: shed, wood racks, planters, tiki bars, whatever. Indoor category: storage racks, shelves, furniture. I have my idea now. How about multiple entries?
Requesting Pallet Pete review and everyone add input so we can come up with a great contest. - 3 categories of builds. - #1 FHC or wood hoarder project. Any build that assist in the cutting, splitting, stacking firewood and burning firewood. Like: firewood shed, kindling box , cutting sawhorses. etc. This is what we do here. - #2 The around the house/homestead build. Things like outdoor furniture, a work bench, a practical use for pallet wood that doesn't involve wood cutting/ wood " burning. - # The "pinterest" build. the art deco items that are the "artsy" things. The wall decorating items, the lawn art items, the whirligigs or the things that make Pinterest. - enter as many pallet related builds as you would like in any or all categories, - must photograph the pallet before starting. - the item must be constructed out of 90% pallet wood. Use of metal, paint, stain, hardware, etc. are acceptable but just to add the finishing touch or to make item functional. - must photograph and give a short description of the build or photos of the build process. - probably have a separate posting for all entries. - all entries post on the site by June 30, 2017. - Winners announced on July 4th. Pallet Pete has already volunteered to be a judge. If Pete thinks he needs some additional judges he can select them. I would purchase 3 FHC hats to be awarded to the winners. Feel free to add things to the prize list. Judges to decide on prizes. I trust if we are doing something illegal or has to get "lawyer" ed . That the site moderators can make that happen. Let me know if I am off base or if you have input. Marty
I'm concerned about those doing the project all themselves (like moi) and those with help....if I get started end of March odds are I'll have a winner by June 30....us northerners....
I'm out. But if anyone gets an idea to build a bridge and is looking for a place to do it, I've got a couple spots. I've got two seasonal streams that I need to cross to get to open up more of the property to hoarding opurtunities.
