I chuckle thinking back to his Ford Aerostar with self made 'drawbridge' hauling deck mounted to rear. I figure he collected any available pallets from businesses around town, including the one I work at which is very close to where his home was. Some more insight on the guy...I was talking to him one day and he mentioned being hungry and wanting to go thaw out a couple cheeseburgers. Hmmm. "Thaw them out?" 'Yeah, I go to McDonalds and buy 40 of them and take them home and put them in the deep freezer. When I get hungry I get a couple and microwave them.' Traditionally I have just used a 2lb hammer and a Stanley Wonderbar to deconstruct them. I need to process quite a few for the material needed, so gonna start employing the sawzall.
I have one. Used it a bit here and there with mixed results. Depends on what was used to fasten the pallets. Breaks apart about as many boards as you get to pop off whole. Tedious if you’re trying to save whole boards. Works good for deck, flooring removal.
That’s good to know! I was thinking about getting one. Sounds like the ol’ saw method may be a lot easier in the end.
