I re-looked at your pictures and see it now. In that case, you'd be doing your tractor a disservice by not adding a grapple.

But it will outlive you so cost of ownership really divided up is like pennies a day.
At least that's what I tell myself.

I can probably say for certain I will have a set by June, or at least have a set ordered. They say, 4 weeks turn around/delivery. Now, That will be a truthful statement as long as something drastic doesn't come down the pike... :picard:

I need to get or make a grapple for my bobcat. I’ve been using the forks a lot, but they can only do so much. I have the aux pedal, just have to run the lines up front.

So today, the sun was out and I had the forks on the loader. I lifted the forks and took a VERY close look at everything including all the welds. Lets start here first; The fit up, the cuts and forks all slide well, fits snuggly on the tractor, no issues anywhere with measurement's and things are straight and square. I am very anal about fit up! This is where this company did OK! Now, the welds....o_O:picard:..... I stated before I generally don't critique a person making a living. I taught welding to Engineers, Ship builders and HP Steam fitters. As a CWI and a CWE, as well as Certified Instructor for the US Navy and US Coast Guard, I've seen some $#!T, bad, very bad, and stuff that should have NEVER left the bench! The welds on this fork set are "Pathetic" to say the least. When the sun is out I'm gonna snap some pictures of the welds in spots. They are HIDEOUS to put it mildly. I realize people have to make a living, but this company MUST have a QA person and if he or she let this go out the door, That's scary! Now, I paid $695 for this set, and I seen others as high as $1000.00 and that old saying is, You get what you pay for. These must have been "Jig" made because measurement's were spot on +- a 1/16 to 1/8" not bad. They were absolutely square to the tractor. Fabrication look quality, but a Blind orangutan welded it up.... o_O I'm not going to put any heavy use on it but come warmer weather, I'm gonna lay some hot 7018 over some of this $#!T. Some of the areas are just to tight to grind out. Pics maybe tomorrow....

My opinion I think you should call and complain. They should swap it out with a properly welded one. Maybe the owner doesn't know his guy is tipping a few on the clock.

I sure would gripe about that. There is no excuse for proper fit up and lack of welding. Maybe they’ll at least give you a refund and you can weld it up. I would call it a safety hazard if it is like you describe.

I'm gonna snap some pictures later today. I'm actually gonna use the loader to split up my load of wood. You'll see what I mean..

You buy USA made and expect top quality. The sad truth is Made in the USA doesn’t mean much anymore. They probably pay the welder $20 an hour. If you can’t support a family on the wage, it isn’t a good living.

Yes, that is true! This was supposed to be "Amish" made, so you would think it would be decent. I've seen High school kids that have 3 days of metal shop that could have done some of this, Or, it was Friday and 15 minutes before quitting time and get it out the door! o_O Again, I'll be splitting all day but I'll snap some close up shots. Some welds are ok, some are iffy and some are complete S#!T.

Often when companies get bigger and grow, the quality assurance goes out the window. One of the things I’ve always loved about SuperSplit. He stayed small, stayed in his lane, and stayed involved in the day to day.

It always see the irony of people saying today isn’t a good living; not trying to pick a fight just a little perspective. Historical, geographical any at all

As Forrest Gump says, " I'm not a smart man...", so I'm probably doing it all wrong...you know we ain't "justified"...;);):cool:
You have forks for lifting rounds and cutting off the ground...one reason we drilled a small hole in each fork...3/4 bolt with welded washer, holds logs while cutting 20260211_182110.jpg
Before putting the bolts in... 20260211_100304.jpg
It's centered about 2 1/2" back, only prying I'm gonna do is getting logs from a pile.
And moving totes is the other thing... 20260102_094150.jpg
If you don't want to drill the holes, we did use 4x4 blocks and C-clamps... 20250508_083934.jpg
You know we have the same tractor, so my suggestions are from my experience...
We bought the MTL grapple, fork style when we had the L3130. It works really good for moving big piles of brush 20260203_110829.jpg
    Or picking up/placing rounds 20260206_094944.jpg
Or grabbing/pushing the ends of logs 20251126_100335.jpg
After we got the L4802, we were blessed to be able to get another grapple. Researched several brands, came down to Homestead and Catawba. Homestead made in NY, Catawba made in NC. In fact not to far from where EA Attachments is. If I was a betting man, Catawba builds EA grapples. They have been in business a long time.
I guess this is how you want to scare that kid... 20250418_160022.jpg
The Catawba is my choice if we're cleaning up land, the toothed plates between rippers grab very small brush or trees, pinky size or so, and pluck them out of the ground.
It's not a sissy either, weighs 350# and will rip roots just fine...pecan root 20250419_102022.jpg
And a pine stump it destroyed... 20250821_121813.jpg
It was several hundred dollars cheaper than EA, too.
Oh, almost forgot, we had 2 hooks welded on each grapple, for chain and tong work, sometimes a piece is to big for the grapple... 20250908_095930.jpg

My two cents worth, on half price sale...
