20 minutes east of Altoona, cool. Must be near Route 80 then? Worked in Johnstown for 4 years, so I know the Area. New job will be taking me to Southern Ohio, so this is a small detour
East of Altoona, not north. Probably closer to the PA Turnpike than to Route 80. (You might be thinking of Williamsport, not Williamsburg?)
Im not sure if i can do it on memorial day weekend. We'll see.... I was out practicing yesterday though. 34" at the bottom. Biggest one i cut down to date... 390xp loved it.
blacksmith awesome see if you can talk Tony and Amy into coming again. Scotty Overkill hopefully you'll be able to stop in and check on your cult. Woodsnwoods yes I pm the address to those that ask and we usually do a running list of who is coming and what they are bringing. Redfin I think we have some to do on a 288, let Rodney and Curt know also please. Kris Wagner Hope you and the family can make it will be nice to see you all again. Duane(Pa) hope you can make it again.
cwn877 we would love to come. Hopefully it won't be on Memorial weekend though and we will need to know what is available for sleeping. We'd like to come and either before or after the gtg head east to the Reading area to visit with our eldest son and his family. Will let you know but we do need details on the date.
Backwoods Savage yes it's the weekend before memorial day I know it's not the best time but it is when I can get vacation right now hopefully that will change soon. t4driller I hope you can it will be nice to see you again. Redfin you and me both that was brutal last year.
This year, we'll do some climbing and demonstrating some techniques. Maybe we can set that up for Friday afternoon/evening. Backwoods Savage, Chris and I (and possibly blacksmith) will be coming to yiur GTG as well. Pick me a tree that I can climb and piece out for ya.....
Scotty Overkill one I have in mind is an oak that is leaning over the creek. Barcroftb can help comment on this one. It is not particularly large but it does lean over the creek and even if we can pull it, there is not much of a place to put it down so some has to be pieced down. I'm thinking we can piece it down then pull it up the bank (steep) with atv or tractor. Another is a tree that is beside the barn that always gets dead limbs. I've taken some down but I simply cannot climb like I once could. It is also difficult to get a lift to where it is needed. Now there is another one (yes, another oak) that is at the neighbor's (across the road; the only other place on this dead end road) that I'd love to see down. The biggest problem there is his wife as she does not want it down. It scares me to no end and I can't even convince them to quit parking their vehicles by it. You'll understand when you see it. That one is a big one too. But if nothing else, I'd like to get the limbs that might fall on the house. Still, it would be up to you if you wanted to tackle it and I'll work on the neighbor as it would really be a great demo tree. The neighbors are also good people. Anyway, we'll come up with something good for you and the group. For sure we'll be looking forward to finally meeting you and blacksmith. As for the gtg out there, as stated, we'd love to come even if I have to leave the ornery one home.
