My P61a used to work really hard keeping my foundation and floor warm. I put up rigid foam insulation and it is a lot better and the stove doesn't work very hard at all.

Getting new insulation into the main floor walls, along with air barrier, helped that floor a lot. I know, I know, it is time consuming and :emptywallet::emptywallet:.

Hey, I'll be happy to help with demolition - I'm rather good at that :)

That's the key right there , if you can't trap the heat you're making doesn't matter how big of a stove or pellet brand you're gonna be cold .

Hopper extension was a great addition. Might not be a nice looking as without, bug being able to run well over 24 hours with it, and wife not sweating stove running out of pellets if forgotten to fill it up occasionally was well worth the price.

only 4 rooms I have redone the rest is empty as its a 1860 farmhouse and there is no insulation as the previous owners did not do much to the house. So its a 2800 sq. ft house with little insulation hence it's cold in here when it gets really cold . Time well i have little to none with the hours I work I am up at 3:00 am leave the house by 3:30 or so and get home after 6:00 pm earliest. By the time the so called weekend gets here I am toast but actually do a lot just to keep the house functioning with helping out the wife and Sis with their business. I am usually in bed by 8:00 pm so very little time to work on the house. brutal cycle

Looking at your settings it looks like the temp dial was at 2. Did your room blower shut down during your test? I ask because my experience has been that it shuts off unless it is set at least a little over 5. If it does shut off, then a lot of heat goes out the pipe. Maybe your stove acts differently than mine do though.

Looking at the pic I can't tell if it's manual or auto, blower will only shut down if it's in manual mode if set at less than 5

Oh, I was confused - I was thinking that is what it did in stove temp mode, but that is not the case and it only does it in room temp mode. CRS!

It only does it in Stove Mode. Stove mode manual the dist. blower will not run unless the heat setting is 5 or above. In room temp manual the stove won't shut down.

Auto mode, fan on High. Ive never used manual, and don't have a Thermometer hooked to it, since its in the basement, and want the heat to travel upstairs into main living area.

Now I remember why I get confused as to the modes and how they act - I usually only change modes with the P43 and the in-line thermostat messes with how it works. Figured that out when I went to change the settings last night to account for the wind and how it affects the bedrooms (took it off thermostat)
