The sink is together and works great. Not bad for a cut up kitchen sink anyways. I put the drain out the side of the kitchen area and it dumps the gray water alongside the rain gutter. The link below is the short video of it functioning. I plugged it and let it set for a good half hour and didn’t find any leaks!! A little surprising honestly. https://youtube.com/shorts/2j_SdWlzlC4?feature=share
The sink works so well We decided to put a water filter in-line under the sink so it’s safe to drink and use for cleaning. I don’t remember exactly when I put the hose in the ground but I’m guessing 10 years ago…. It’s a super heavy duty EXPENSIVE garden hose that is still fully functional today but I don’t trust it for cleanliness at all… we ordered this filter because it states 99.99% contaminates removal and is NSTF/ASI tested. It also comes with the hoses which is nice!
Just got the filter installed and it works and tastes great no leaks. the black-stone has been left on the porch but I decided to see if it would fit in the kitchen and to my surprise it fits great next to the sink! No issue at all… there’s a lot of room in there still more than it looks like actually. The covers make it look much tighter than it really is in the kitchen area. I just need to locate and procure one more propane tank and it’s all set to go.
Would you be able to do any summer canning out there? I always thought summer kitchens for canning that you find on farms to be such a neat idea.
We certainly could use it for canning and other things too. There’s a very large burner on the blackstone that we can boil water with for water bath canning. I also have power out there that we could use for an electric pressure canner.
Wow. I have never heard of a electric pressure canner. I wonder if you are able to keep the pressure more stable than using propane or an electric stove.
We actually use two pressure cookers one year. Users one for cooking down the tomatoes and the other for sealing the jars. Worked great.
I would like a vent fan at some point but so far I haven't really needed it. It be really nice in the winter when the bar is closed in with canvas and I’m grilling or smoking things so there’s an easy avenue to direct smoke out.. The seating area will get a ceiling fan at some point although it won’t be till next year most likely. We still need to run power to the locations we’d like there to be receptacles and the fan. As of right now there’s one receptacle hooked up but that’s enough to run the smoker, lights and food warmer which is all we really need for the moment. If I stumble on an EMT sale anywhere I might do it this year but chances aren’t very good it will get done.
Time for a good chuckle. A couple of my friends wanted to name the “bar” personally I don’t care and didn’t care about a name lol. They argued for MONTHS over a name. Dusty wanted McPetes bar & grill because all of my home brew beers start with McPetes as a joke because my first home brew many years ago was an Irish red. Bruce wanted Piki Bar because originally it was supposed to be a tiki bar before it morphed into what it is now. I ordered a sign with both names as a joke on both of them. The sign shows up the other day and then they say we both decided it’s the “ Outpost Bar and Grill “ I can’t win
I did a good amount today and put canvas up on the back and the left side. I modified a canvas to be the right angle on the left by folding it where needed adding grommets to the top. They slide back out of the way and I use a rope to tie them up to the post. When I pull them tight they seal up very nicely right now there loose.
