Ok so i'm old and confused and will just ask straight up do you have any Cubex or Norther Max available (same pellet different bag) as if you want a good hardwood these are the best I have found or that I have burned . They produce little ash and I am finding out now with trying different softwoods they even have same or less ash as North Country and close to LaCrete and crank out some serious heat, at least in both of my Harmans. I managed to grab a bunch in the spring last year at a great price.

Agreed. Some of the best I've burned (thanks to Steve-O contributing them to my stash). Definitely worth a try.

I never tried them because until now no one around here ever sold them. I mean idk if it’s because of the brand of pellet but my stove chows seem to take longer to light. I know that soft and hardwoods burn at different rates but I just replaced the BurnPot on my p43 and it was going great when we first did it yesterday then all of a sudden it was taking forever to light. With a new burn pot, gaskets and igniter. Maybe just a couple of bad bags but idk if I want to go with hardwood or just try and stay softwood.

You are going to get a different experience with each different pellet you burn. In fact, it's not uncommon to have a different experience between different seasons / batches of the same pellet. So don't let the experience of one hardwood bias you toward them all.

    I am a softwood snob..
that said, at times it takes a while for even my pellets to ignite.. no ryme or reason..
only time they ignite reeeeeaaaal quick is right after I did a good cleaning/scraping and the Harmon is chompin to go!!

Idk guys. This is a hard decision. I’m kinda torn between north country ($360 for 60 bags), blazers ($290), or easy blaze softies ($320). I’m going over there tomorrow to get something lol.

All things being equal, I would say the EZBS and Blazer would be a wash so then I'd go for price. Essentially it would be $300 (ton) for the NC or $290 for Blazer.....or just get one of each :D

D-Mac, see if the store will let you do a sample pack instead of an entire ton or two of the same product. Try a variety of different kinds to see what you like. gotta be honest though, I agree with some of the comments made above. No need to pay a lot of money with your stove, it's not fussy. I don't know that you will notice a big difference between brands with the P43. So leaning toward the $285 options are where I would concentrate. Try to grab some Spruce Pointe, EZB Blend, Eagle Valley, and North Country. Tough to go wrong with those options.

I go spruce pointe for $285. Best burning pellet i have had this years variant. Burned lacrete north country eagle valley. The spruce pointes are low fine super light ash no carbon buildup amd great heat. If he has them i would save the $15/ton over everything else and rock them no problem.

He wouldn’t do a grab bag lol. I ended up with north country. He didn’t have spruce point or I would have went with those. Didn’t have lacrete either. He had blazers left but I feel the blazers weren’t to impressive to me.
