We didn't get up last weekend, but we may Sunday. I ran it by my honey and she smiled. The road can still be soft this time of the year so, it's possible we'll get part way and have to turn around... or call a tow truck... :zip: Almost buried our truck and trailer June 5th 2011. I was able to back out. Wasn't good. Hoping the snow we had last year kept the frost from going too deep. Should be OK.

The wasps and yellow jackets are going nuts making nests already and I try to discourage them before they build an army. The cabin's porch roof is about as perfect a spot for them as it gets. Wanna get up and give em a drink.

We had 2 generators. The bigger one was needed to drive all of the stuff at the same time. Lots of loading and unloading for sure. Thanks for all of the comments.

I might have missed it but what area?

Was wondering too, horizontals across the wall studs, what where they for?

Western Maine. Horizontal sections are for shelving, but more important, they're nailers for the vertical 2nd layer of siding boards. We machine gunned the poor cabin with nails perty good. (Air nailers do that doncha know) Gawd help anyone ever trying to take it apart. There's no plywood anywhere in it.

Hope it doesn't roll off the hill for a while anyway... ;) Have lots of indoor stuff to do. Steps up to the deck too. Looking forward to times there doing it all.

Looks like a special place, I hope you have time to spend there with your family...

Do you cut wood there for the stove or do you bring it with you from your home?

I don't see any wood stacks?

Yeah, there's a little there that might actually burn, stacked under a section of metal roofing. There's more than enough already down that needs to be CSS, but I leave that for whatever time the guys want to put into it. They both know I'm going for it here with my firewood so they prolly don't ask about getting up there a lot. SIL and daughter have the 2 babies keeping them really busy so... And, my son just started a new job so he's gonna be unable to get up there much. We all knew that the stars lined up in 2011 and it was the year to go for it and at least get the main cabin built.

Yup, Campinspecter wanted to see the stove so I put a few more pics up on the stove and the double walled pipe we put up. It's after the cabin pics.

What was the reason for using boards vs plywood or OSB?

You must have had suction cups on your feet to do that roof!... Or did you just not trim your toe nails? Haha!

Would enjoy doing the same with any of the FHC folks anytime... Never need too much of an excuse to go... ;)
