Holly cow. Thanks guys. Your posts were too much... Woodwidow was looking to see what the view is. We still have a big job ahead getting all of the downed trees out and dropping more to open up the view I've been shooting for. (I wonder where I could every find an army of guys who like to run chainsaws and make noise... ) I'll see if I can find some winter pcs from the porch so the leaves aren't in the way. My son stopping to take in the view. He loves it up there as much as I do. He dropped a lot of trees in a couple days. We've pulled some, more to go. Don't drink many beers any more, but it sure tasted good while we were doing this project...
Thanks for the view pics. I am really impressed that this property has been in your family for so many years and that you had an opportunity to build where there was a previous home. The history really blows me away. When your grandbabies are big enough to roar around there and really enjoy the freedom of the woods, it really will become special. oh, oh, I think I am turning green. Definitely not too many pics!!!
Wow! A real worker. You made your dream come true. I hope you get to enjoy it for many years to come. Really enjoyed the pics. Ps. Nice view.
We had a h*ll of a first year with just a single wall 6" pipe stuck out the wall. Prolly know just what happened. What a mess, creosote and crud running all over the pipe and the outside wall.Luckily, we hadn't done the second layer of boards yet... we put up the right stack as soon as we could.
All of your comments are really nice. Thank you! We had a lot of laughs and fun building this. I suspect as life does what it does, my kids will see this place as their re-charge station... just like grandpa...
Woodstove and rocking chairs. I can feel it, on the porch during a crisp morning, right after a light snow, coffee in hand, not a sound. After a spell doing that, hop inside for a warmup next to the stove before planning the days tasks.......
