Sweet tour pics DaveGunter That’s a propah modular........which should never be confused with a manufactured home (think I saw this confusion expressed in another thread).... Guessing y’all are pretty stoked? Sheeeeit, I’m stoked for y’all
Dave that is nice you got to tour the place. It can be an eye opener seeing how they do things no. Computers can be very helpful for sure.
We have a lot of ledge here. Built the house on top. Had a 4 ft knee wall then wood walls on three sides. One side remained open ground level. Then backfilled up to three feet on three sides.. Regular windows and doors . No daylight issues. I really enjoy following this thread. Glad you have taken the time to share with us. Beautiful lot you have there. The dogs are going to love it there. It is a bit of a drive to work for you now. Like the pre built home thing. Dimensions are exact. No shortcuts when built that way. I think you will find it easy to heat. Might find it a little tight so air exchange is important. We use outside air for the combustion in the furnace and for the pellet stove for that reason. I am sure you and your builder have covered all of that. Do you plan on a garage or barn?
I've been lurking on this thread since the beginning. Thanks for the virtual tour, that is cool how they do that and looks like things should go smoothly once it starts going up at your site.
I think what will be the biggest impression is when they deliver and set up the new house. That is really impressive to watch. That house will just come together. There is one about a mile up the road from us that got delivered before the foundation was ready. It is sitting in parts waiting to be assembled. I would like to be able to see it when it happens, but things have been moving so slow on that lot that is hard to tell what schedule they have if any.
Forms are up, I think the concrete is coming tomorrow. Full concrete walls on three sides with and 8 foot step down wrap around to the back wall. We will have 32 feet of stick built wall in the back for daylite walk out. Perforated pipe drains inside and outside of the foundation are in. We have enough pitch and were able to get the septic drain in under the slab, so we made some last minute changes to add some drains in the basement floor for a future bath.
Walls got poured last week. Forms came off and below slab plumbing is in, future basement bath and the main drain line. The slab might get poured this weekend, weather dependent, tentative set date for the modules is 7/31 also weather dependent.
It must be starting to get exciting when there more done. Easier to see the final product with the basement walls in place.
