Most car/moose hits are disasters. They seems to get out of it fairly well. Moose just have no concept about moving cars.
I was holding my breath watching that and willing that it would escape. In our area, we have very small deer and they never run blindly forward across the road. They may be half way across the road when you come along and they will turn and go back the way they came.
It is a little disconcerting as you are going to avoid them by going around behind and wham, they have turned around and hit you.
