Just thought I would share my experience with the new Oregon aluminum core bars. I will add photos and info the best I can.
I currently have one 16" speedcut which is the .325 narrow kerf .050
I also have a 20" versacut which is 3/8 (not lp) I got the .058 to run my current chains.
Fist photos are of .325 nk showing the weight vs a standard oregon/ husqvarna. 325 nk 20161020_101314.jpg

It sounds like the saw turns more RPMs with the LP but it was a hair faster with the 325nk. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

What is the difference between the speed cut and versacut bars?

Speedcut is .325 nk and versacut is standard 3/8 but as far as I can tell that is it.

I see the list price on them but what are these realistically going to sell for? Interested in the versacut...

I will be selling the 20" versacut for $40. I can ship as well but that usually eats up most of the savings.

Here is the 20" versacut almost felling a 28" Hickory.
As I was cutting the trunk with it hung up i pinched the bar once. It did not damage the bar. So... either I got lucky or maybe they will hold up well. Time and use will tell.
