    Correct, I bought that 346 for $250. Confirmed it ran (eBay purchase). Since most are selling for $700 on Ebay used, I figured it was worth a gamble.

    Do you need a 346 coil or anything else once converted to the 346 top end kit? different carb?

    If $250 was too much, tell me.

    No! That’s a steal of a deal. :thumbs::thumbs:

    You can’t turn a 350 into a 346. Like said, 350 is a plastic case homeowner saw and a 346 is a mag case pro saw. By putting the 346 top end on it, you give the 350 a major increase in performance. That’s all there is to it. Unless you are porting the cylinder, there’s really no need to mess with other parts (carb/intake boot/coil/etc.). The main benefit to the 350/346p/c (p/c = piston/cylinder) is the power to weight boost. With that plastic case the saw is very light, 346 parts make it very powerful (for 50cc). I have a Jonsered version of the 350 and it’s ported.

    I finally got a chance to start the 346XP. I ordered this through Ebay and it was shipped full of fuel (the box was soaked). A couple things I noticed right away:
    (1) wrong size chain. It came with the .058 bar, 78 link. But the chain is smaller than my .050 80 links.
    (2) Exhaust is upside down (no bolts)
    (3) stripped allen head on the spikes
    (4) cylinder view through the exhaust port is pristine

    I've got a 20" bar coming and new chain, finding that Ebay has the cheapest. The X cut chains I'm finding for $25 shipped and $45 shipped for the 20" bars.

    I'm going to run it for the next few trips out. Then give the plastics a simple green bath, inspect it further with compression test, and then fix the stripped allen. It started on the second pull and sounds crispy/responsive. One smart thing on the 346XP is that the carb screws appear to be metal (thank god), the plastic ones on the 350 suck.

    I still have two 181's that will stay with me, also a couple J-Reds (2077 with a Stihl 064 piston mod, and a 630v, also a PP 415) that will also have a place to stay for quite some time......:D DSCF0103.JPG 20200405_123959.jpg 237242-d1ef82ab3b6e51f52723edd659df444b.jpg IMAG0681.JPG
