Scratch that.......here are the measurements in inches.

3400 = 1.810"
3700 = 1.875"
4000 = 1.935"

 

We got them saved in a thread on my site. Would have to search later or you can do it. In Poulan board 3400 3700 4000

 

found it in mm too in thread.


In mm

4000 bore 49.2mm

3700 47.7mm

3400 46mm

 

well just went and checked my 3400 and came out to 46mm or so. so any bigger than that would indicate 4000 (or 4900

 

so there ya go.

Here are a couple of useful files for some of the saws from Poulan for piston and cylinder finishes, diameters and applications.

 

I'm going to get it cleaned up tonight and see what it is. I'll get some photos and let you know the outcome.

 

Well it seems to be a 4000 with a 3400 clutch cover. P&C looks good. Exhaust is clean. Has spark. Decreased it put some new gas in amazingly it fired up pretty easy. Didn't run it but a couple minutes turns up and sounds good but doesn't want to idle. Carb kit is in order. Sprocket is rough and bar is junk. I'll get it running and tuned back in and get a new bar to try it out. Almost excited to see how it compares. I'll get going on the homie this weekend. Not as clean as jon1212 but better than it was.

For $20 what can a guy be out? If things don't work out good next summer it's for sale. Hate for it to be beat by a husky.

By the way, I noticed your location, and thought I'd mention that I have a daughter currently in Cumberland, serving an LDS Mission.

 

I'll just have to see how it performs. Wasn't really interested in this saw just came as a package deal.
Cumberland is 2 hours south of me. I'll drive through this afternoon. My daughter has softball practice Friday and Sunday in Biddeford.
