This brittanys last hunt was in CO near the KS border New Years Day 2011. Easy terrain and good temperature for her and she retrieved 32 quail for several hunters combined. Hubby said the cubbys were so full when flushed that the hunters never would have found most of them on their own. She had a fantastic life.

WW, check out Munsterlanders. I have a Small Munsterlander and he is the best companion and bird dog I have ever owned. He loves everyone and every dog he gets around. Hunts fairly close, pays attention to me and has a good nose. He is asleep right now on his mat by the heater with all 4 feet sticking in the air, dreaming about something and making little noises. Taking him quail hunting tomorrow. Has feet like a lab, loves water too-a German breed.

Oh Dear! They look beautiful!....I can see the gentle/loyal look in the eyes of the pics I googled. Thank you, both the bird dog/companion are both important for our selection. I bookmarked this for when the time comes.

Where abouts you at North or South? I had a business trip in Colo Sprgs on the Brits last hunt, the quail one.... My husband took her some where near the KS border (between Ft Collins and Colo Sprgs) and we met up in colo sprgs. The dog was exhausted and thrilled!

How nice to meet you :)

I've vented my dryer into a bucket in the basement for 35 years. Could not see putting a hole in the wall when I am trying so hard to insulate against the cold....
I keep a large stewpot on my stew pot on my stove; evaporate about 2 gallons a day. Keeps the air comfortable in the house.

This Autumn our outdoor humidity has been very high...in the 80's and 90's common. High humidity and teens feels really cold, especially with wind, which we have had quite a bit of.

I am in the very southwest corner of Kansas most of the time about 4 1/2 hours from Co Springs. Have a place west of Walsenburg, CO a couple of hours from CO. Springs. I found my pup at Hunting Hills Kennels in Brainard, Nebraska. He is 7 years old now. I will say that they are slow starters/late maturing dogs. Jake just loves everybody including the little kids. Most of my dogs have been pointers or setters in the past and not really what I call "companions".
    Good luck on the search!
