In case ya'll are interested... http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/okanagan-douglas-fir-wood-pellets-review.9842/
I just noticed that there specs are a$$ backwards. What is the point of putting ash and moisture with a greater than or equal too sign?? Not surprised to see those ash levels. DF are sweet, as always great review!
Only thing I don't like about them is the coin!! But well worth it if you have a stove that has a small ash tray and you needed to extend the time between cleanings. My little quad could go all week burning 2 to 2 1/2 bags a day. Where I'd be shutting down every 3 days with average stuff burning that many a day. Blazers are also nice, Specially when you can score them at box prices. Up here we also have a few others I'd like to try someday. Purcell and North Idaho energy. But its a bit of a ride to get em. Someday!!
Hopefully we can get some samples of those too!!! Unfortunately, we have to head to Pittsburgh tomorrow for that funeral but if we happen to pass some stores with pellets I'll have to run in and see what they got.
Even though they do mark up the singles, For some reasons(unknown to me) they (BT and CT) both been known to not break up certain tons. Specially the big dollar stuff. Could be that they don't move as well as the cheaper stuff?
you might be right, but that's pretty short-sighted......why not let folks who are used to inferior brands try something better such that they might actually appreciate the difference? heck, we include a ton of Purcells with each stove we sell....gt the folks trying the good stuff, then they KNOW the difference when they buy da crap.
well, yea, stuff that costs more money sells for more money, but evenso, break the tons nonetheless. Why charge more? Although many will "poo-poo" it, it simply costs more to load for folks.....MUCH easier to load with a lift! And yea, you sell less if it costs more, by the bag OR by the ton! Given the economy, the majority of folks want the cheapest pellet they can get, regardless of quality, so they shun the more expensive stuff
