Get 50 man hours in my dead ash mess between now and 4/25, which is “epic wood day” where we process to fill the lean to and all my buddies come over. Spend most of these 50 hours staging, only bringing back one 4 wheeler trailer at the end of each session. Then deploy 4 wheeler and cart on epic wood day for non-stop runs while I have the help here on 4/25. Whatever is left un-hauled, leave for shoulder season 2020. After this effort, make decision on realistic options for what remains, to keep rolling or leaving it etc....
IMO if there’s a chance you won’t get it all I would start with the dead standing wood. Once ash blows down I find the reason it blew down is cause of rot, the woods not as good and makes more ash and less heat. I would go after the standing wood if I were you. I hope this all works out for you.
Slocum "The Wise" speaks. I agree. Many of the Ash I get that blew down, I end up leaving several feet lay near the "snapped off" point and only harvest the solid portions of the tree. Sometimes the whole tree is starting to get punky. I frown sadly and move on to better pickin's...
