In T- minus 5 minutes I will have a link. My wife just got home and told me that the deal is even better now if you get the black box. As soon as she send me the link? I will post it here. It wasn't at Amazon. I was way off..... ;)

    I wouldn't say I "hoard" tools.

I view hoarding as collecting junk with no real use... Like the people with trash and years old food floor to ceiling in their house.

I have a decent selection collected over 20+ years, all have a use... I don't really hang onto tools just for the same of having.

24" wide x 45" tall (with lid open) x 12" deep (bottom section) and 10" deep (top section. It's not very deep, but for $79, a heck of a buy. I almost have most of the tools from the garage I need in there.

The depth is the only downfall in my opinion. It's easy to set up, pretty solid, comes with a decent kit, and is cheap. :)

I am thinking about it for my stained glass supplies. They are hard to move about. I noticed this has rollers. so I could pull it out of a closet and roll it back when I am not working on a project. the standard glass is usually a 12x12 square. The Walmart's around here are out of stock, but that doesn't mean they will stay that way.

Order it online and get free shipping. That's what my wife did? Unless it has to be in stock? But that doesn't make any sense because they will ship anything from store to store?

Ok Thistle, I see a few blacksmith post vises. The one under the bench looks complete with bracket and spring. What is the story with them? Any manufacturers info on them? The mounted one looks minty.

I like the woodworking vises too. I could have used them for my current project.

I have the 1 big blacksmith post vise at right of bench (3 big bolts/nuts/washers to anchor it to top, plus the post fits into a 1" hole bored into a 4" thick scrap red oak that is fastened to 80 yr old concrete floor with wedge anchors) In barely a minute that 70lb vise can be removed & set aside when needing more space on bench top.Bought it at local farm/estate auction in mid '80's sometime, best $25 I spent in years.... Before the internet you spent loads of time, money & gas going around searching for the stuff, part of the fun & challenge - was quite frustrating with ''dead ends'' or not seeing what it was described as once you got to the owner's place sometimes too.... :emb::mad:  Most of those vises I seen anymore are $100+ with all kinds of damage, some even left outside to decay for a century or more....That's a shame.

2 small vises underneath left side of bench - small portable mechanics vise, about 6-7 pounds that can be clamped to any bench or tailgate under 2 inches thick. And a early 1960's Stanley No.400 cast iron picture framer's/mitre vise attached to a scrap block of white oak that can be clamped in regular wood vise when needed.Dont have enough space to have these other little things permanently fixed to bench top,so portability is the key. Old drywall bucket has a bunch of late 19th century malleable iron cam clamps, some other odds & ends.

Small shop in 2 car garage that's underneath 98 year old house with walkout basement, you'd be amazed how much stuff can be crammed effiencently in every nook & cranny. Not perfect but works for me.

You have eye candy everywhere there. All of it. I like the base bolted to the floor for the post vise. I have a few vises, my favorite is this Columbian d44. It was my grandfathers and I love having it around. I gets used on a regular basis. It has a small table and "anvil" that I use to cold form thin metal.

Second favorite is this unmarked post vise that I picked up last year at an antique market. I walked by it at least 4 different weekends contemplating buying it since the mounting plate, spring and wedges were missing. I will fabricate a replacement spring this year after I caught the skin just below my thumb between the jaws last fall.

I opened the sellers eyes when I explained all the missing parts. But I rig it up to a steel post and it works well. It weighs in at 65 lbs. I'm not sure of the age, but it is a little crude in the way it was manufactured. Most likely power hammered into shape with lots of divots. It takes beating hot iron on it like a champ.

Your organization looks pretty good. I am limited in space also and portability is key. I am not that organized, but I know where stuff is, if that makes sense.

I bought a lot of craftsman stuff the last few years as they were clearing out their usa made tools. I had been using a bunch of random mismatched tool boxes and organization was a lacking so I bought all the tool chest I 'should' ever need.

For those that remember the $80 tool chest a page back I posted and the free tool kit. Well now for $100, you get the tool box (3 tier), the included tool kit for the top of the box, and an extra 252 piece kit for $100. That's a lot of tools. The extra kit is normally $80 by itself.

I have 2 other tool box's in the garage, but this one is on Casters and my wife knew I liked the other one. When she seen the extra kit in it for $20 more, she bought 2. One for me and one for my Father for Father's day.

Here is a pic of the kit that goes in the top of the box 20140221_210907.jpg

Here is a pic of the extra kit that comes with it (in its own little handy carrying case)
    20140607_210047.jpg

And some screen shots of the prices.

In short: tools, tools, everywhere are tools, 24x28 pole barn stuffed full, tools in the basement, tools in the closet, tools in the den, tools in shed, tools in the truck, leatherman tool on my belt at all times
I to, don't like to pay someone to fix something, if I need a special tool I buy it and do the work.
Once in a while I will barrow a special tool from Advance Auto, it's free
