Just the blowers, both leaf and snow, i can go through 7-10 gallons a year between the two. Saws it takes me 1.5 - 2 years to burn up a 5 gallon can of VP racing 94 octane with Dominator mix.

Great stuff but no longer available in the US , well there is some out there but the price is off the wall.
I am on my last quart now.

Ok, whew, I’m still ok at 9 then with no wood to cut except to run saws and burn in the backyard. I was wondering where we drew the line at full blown addiction. Who knew I would learn the answer to that in an oil thread of all places?

My wife clued me in. 14 + was a hoarder, under that is a normal collector. So I'll keep selling old pain in the but vintage saws, replacing with new or modern saws till I have 13 ported saws. Lol

Yes, it is easy to get here. But not the cheapest oil.

I'm using Fuchs Agrifarm Universal 2T at the moment. It's only FB rated but it works ok at 40:1 and I got a load of it for nearly free. And it smells nice. When it has gone I'll start using Amsoil Saber or Dominator, on the back of the lean-death test results that Eggshooterist carried out. We have a specialist oil importer here who sells Amsoil products.

If you get stuck for a particular oil you want, let me know and we'll figure something out. I have Family in Liverpool and I can have some of them dig also, maybe send you some from a shop there. .

My local NAPA where I've been getting the Lucas at for years has the little bottle of the Lucas Synthetic blend in, a lot cheaper than Amazon. I'm going over and grabbing a bottle. Send it out tomorrow sometime.
I'm looking forward to this test when you are able to do it. Most Important is honest results! :handshake: Good or Bad.

Anyone else interested in learning together and seeing results as they are, let me know.

One thing, I'm just a messenger doing my best to be as consistent in my testing as possible without a lab and unlimited funds to do so. I'm as transparent as possible with many pictures and videos before, during and after testing. I have no agenda outside of learning and sharing results. I don't sell oils. I'm not sponsored by an oil blender. I care less what anyone else runs in their equipment and I'm certainly not going to try and strong arm someone into anything. That said, if someone decides to call me dishonest, a liar ect. because they don't like or agree with the results there will be a problem which will be swiftly and viscously rebutted. I take pride in my honesty and integrity and I will and do defend that. I was accused of being thinned skinned because of this by a particular individual guilty of the above situation. That's fine. To me a person not willing to defend their honor or integrity must not have any worthy of defense in the first place. I can and do joke and harass friends as guys do and they me. That is a different animal than what I'm referring to. So, there you have it. You wanna learn along with the rest of us and have some fun as well, PM me.

Gary who hasn't been here in years but all the saw guys know who I'm talking about had/has hundreds and I am pretty sure he burns No WOOD! I can't think of his name right now. He uses the same name on all the forums. Literally a building full of them. If this helps anyone I know he had a few Studebaker trucks he was trying to sell a few years back on his property. He attended Randy's GTGs , and may still.

I think name is Guido salvage. Or something very similar

I run sabre oil in all my stuff. I do run about 75 or 80:1 on modern stuff. But old saws and equipment I run at 50:1. I know many do run the sabre at 100:1. I'm not quite that adventurous. I've seen plenty of videos and accounts on the Internet that the 100:1 sabre is totally fine.

I know of a couple kawn care outfits that supposedly run 80 or 100:1 saber in everything without issues. I've heard the other side of that equation as well where failure rates skyrocketed going to that oil at that ratio. This from one of the most trusted guys on the forums. I'm an Amsoil user and use their products in everything we own, but I'll never run any oil at less than 50:1 in equipment I care about. If it works for you, and I know it does for many, that's what matters. I probably wouldn't sleep at night knowing I had 80:1 - 100:1 in my saws ect. Lol

Maybe one day I'll switch one of my pieces of ope to 80:1 Saber and let it rip. It would probably be my hand held leaf blower as it, by far, get the most use. Its a broom, snow blower, lraf blower and fire starting aid.

As long as you are actually adding enough oil (not leaving half of it in a measuring cup or bottle), tuning correctly, and running a sharp chain, clean filter, and no air leaks, you should be fine. I know guys who run 100:1 and their saws run great. I would bet that at least half of two strokes have an air leak. I have seen chainsaw assembly vids on youtube that make me cringe.

I run 50:1 and have been running it for 20 years total, 15 years in one saw. I tune for light burble and go. Burning gas is bad enough, why burn more oil than you have to? I don't like breathing the exhaust, but you can do as you please. I'd love to have an electric chainsaw with the same performance and run time as gas. I'd have to put a speaker on it and play chainsaw sounds though.

My biggest qualms with electric chainsaws is that from videos I’ve seen Chaps don’t work :bug:
