    Lots of Nordic folk (mostly Finnish) around Thunder Bay Ontario and that is where I buy most of my smoked fish and I have tried a lot of different ones including Atlantic and Pacific salmon, Lake and rainbow trout, walleye and herring and my favorite (and usually cheapest) is still the whitefish. I have even tried smoked sturgeon back when it was still caught legally from the great lakes.

    One of the places I buy mine they will ship anywhere in Canada but they are not able to ship to the US.

    Yes. I'm 3 miles from Lake Michigan. Crazy stuff when it gets going. The waves in the Great Lakes are more dangerous than ocean waves due to the spacing, and how steep the waves in the Great lakes are.

    That choppiness is what sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald, a 750 ft freighter.
