Alright! ;) Thanks Bro I couldn't take the suspense anymore.  They have some really good recipes however when I was still using the MRBeer kit I went the local home brew supply and had them put together 2 gallon batches for me. The brew store was way cheaper then the pre hopped MRBeer refills. Brother they where really good but I needed to go bigger so now I have a 6 gallon setup but I have the capacity to brew 35 gallons at once. ( which I never will ) :drunk:I hope you really enjoy that kit for years to come.

Dex had me and he got me something that I really wanted!! Not sure if it was before or after I asked him to keep an eye out for a bit bar for me, but if I asked after he got it that's crazy!! And Dex I owe you big you went overboard man!!

Plus it made it easier for me. Dex was posting when he sent stuff and when it would arrive. It was getting narrowed down at that point. And I knew there was only 2 in that part of OHio . Swags and dex. Plus I had. Read the address of swags place a day or 2 earlier on the gtg flyer. AND I had Dex 's address already! If you had used your work address it would of been harder but still I had it figured out Dex ;). Thanks again man! Now I am going to attack that 50" oak in the neighbors yard. Gonna video myself cutting it up as well. Maybe I will make iton the Roku.

Clemsonfor was my SS. A nice box of S.Y.P. fatwood, natural wood candleholders and few Stihl parts. A nice note went along with it. Thanks again!

Don't forget the Moisture meter too!!

I loved reading your story Christmas day i was laughing all day, " very heavy box that smelled like pine from several feet away"! And that you and family peeked!! I wondered if the smell would make it out? It stinks more when warm! It had my home smelling the few days before I sent it.

Just so you know it was fresh split it will slowly lose that smell as it dries out more. Not that its green. If I remember that tree was cut 6 yrs ago! And was probably dead there 10-15 yrs!!

Oh geez yeah sorry I forgot to mention that! The moisture meter was perfect timing to replace my failing one. I took the new one to my dad's to test his oak. Split and tested it and is at a primo 12 - 14%. I think he needs to run his air open longer to get it to light off better.

Everyone looked at me funny at work today when I told them I got a box of wood for Christmas. Man, they just don't get it. I will admit, I may have hugged the box bringing it inside off the porch.

Then I looked at your past threads. Seen your MS 650 was missing "Magnum" and the name plate could be whiter (your plastic was nice and clean)

I got a smoking deal on another bar (28" from Devin86), so I had a bar I could spare. Plus, I buy log loads now. I don't really need anything bigger than 25".

Figured I would pay it forward. I used it once, on a small 10" log. Just so I could put it on my 460 and say i ran a 32"! !

I hope you like it Clem. Merry Christmas

Glad you liked it I almost felt bad for sending wood, but were on wood hoarders site!! Its a regional thing and that stuff is PRIMO, I am a lighter wood expert I'd have to say. I don't even grab junk lighter anymore . Do y'all have lighterwood from pine up there?

This is the stuff they sell in catalogs or in the small duraflame boxes called fat wood, Walmart has a small box for $10!! This stuff will light with a match and burn like its soaked in diesel fuel!

I have used fatwood as a firestarter before. It's pricey around here but works quite well and smells nice when it's sitting on the hearth.

I bought that bar and chain new. Used for one cut in a small log. I hung it on the wall for over a year. Then I got a brand new 28" and 2 chains from Devin86. I had an extra bar and you said you needed one.

Yeah, your 650 is a Magnum.

Dex did you send that bar after I asked about keeping an eye out or before? I don't remember the timeline on that? Also I had been eyeing the ones behind the counter at my dealer when I have been dropping in the last few times.

I tried some this morning and it works real well. It lit oak off with no kindling. What is even better is that I have a small cast iron pot that I picked up this summer that has been sitting on the hearth empty. One handful of lighter wood cut in half on the bandsaw and it filled it nicely. Almost like it was waiting to be filled. The wife shakes her head when I do my crazy idea laugh down the basement.

The closest I use to lighter wood up here is white cedar. I can get plenty of dry old fence post and rails that split so easily. Old siding shingles that are not treated work good too. They light off fast and hot, although it does burn quick. The white cedar smells great too. The pine you sent is much denser and heavy with resin.

Your welcome Matt. It was very memorable as it was the last forging session until spring. It is going to be a long winter. I worked on it till dark, but had a helluva great time working that piece up.

Picture of one of the rings sitting in the forge.

Finished piece getting the once over on my wall before shipping.

Paul Bunion was my SS. I wasn't a super sleuth, he sent me a PM to let me know when to expect it.

Jack the knife already knows I sent him the corn planter plates for trivets. He made his SS' job real easy with this thread:
What is it? Farm Equipment O.O
