I don’t let him get dirty. He’s tucked safely inside most of the time. He has to last almost 20 more years.

He does get a bath once in a while too.

Wife and kids had something going on today so I decided to open my secret Santa gift while getting the stove going after work. I received a voucher to @jbsawman ‘s shop. Thank you to whomever sent it!

    Merry Christmas all.

So my dear bride let me know a suspicious lookin feller showed up in the most familiar white pickup truck today..... Resized_IMG_20211223_132529.jpeg

It was the same truck from the ctsweatogether thread! FHC's beloved buZZsaw BRAD ! He drove all the way up here to bring a big load of coveted BL. And there was a box wrapped in paper, that will be opened Christmas morning.
They unloaded the BL down back, I'll find a safe place to stack it shortly.
We toook two pieces in tonight, and let them warm up by the stove. The dawg let us know that this was indeed top-drawer wood...

We set two pieces in the stove, and wafted the smoke as it began pyrolising. A very different smell than oak that we normally burn. But it smelled good, stronger, very earthy.

Only here, on FHC do we find that folks enjoy carefully picking the finest specimens of a prized wood species, loading it carefully in a truck, hauling that wood over an hour to a friend's house.....only here on FHC does one find the recipient of said wood, a family to happily unload it, then gleefully lifting and smelling the splits.....and carefully loading a few pieces in the stove to waft and analyze the finer qualities, flavors, pallate, of said wood's smoke.

It's also a soul warmer to know that in this sometimes cold and uncaring world, there are some really good people on hand. Right there is the gift I will carry with me for a very long time.

    I'm kinda blown away.

OMG! We blinked. Its buZZsaw Claus! :santa:

The look on your wife's face was rather priceless when some guy in the worlds worst Santa suit gets out and has a wood delivery! Great to meet your son. Fine young man he is.

Glad to see your pooch approved as well!

Merry Christmas to you folks. Save the black gold for the coldest nights.

Will be using a pallet the young man cleared off today. Just gotta find a safe spot. Not just cold nights, but a night when I can enjoy loading each piece.

He enjoyed meeting you as well,.and commented on the wornness of your isocore.
One of his first dates with his new gf, was to take her splitting. Swinging a maul is a real mark of manliness, and it seems to be catchy.

    Thank you so much buZZsaw.
    What a blessing.

Thanks for the kind words Mike! :handshake: Imagine my surprise when i ended up getting an in state member as my "victim". I decided an in person delivery was the way to go. Having seen his stacks in person i knew he had no BL and wasnt familiar with it. Hopefully he doesnt get locust mania!
