He said tires are loaded. Pick the driest part of the yard and get to work.

If the jd has ags and chains, it'll dig to China and win. Even on turfs, I don't think the rzr will win. Now dammit, where's that vid!

Is the loader removable? You will probably pull more without it?

I was just thinking, I'm not sure my 600lb ATV with aggressive tires would have anything but respect for my 1200lb ZTR on turf. They have about the same HP, but HP doesn't mean anything if you can't get the tires to hook up.

I'd leave the loader on...weight is his friend.

The loader is hanging over the front axle unloading the rear axle, the only drive axle.

True, but the loader mount sits between the axles adding weight to the rear. Whether that weight is offset by cantilevering beyond the front axle, we may never know. But it is still a couple hundred lbs of weight the PoPo has to get moving.

Since when does physics matter in a redneck tug of war? :p He who has the biggest mud tars wins.

I know with my BX I run 3 weights on the front for mowing and 5 for 3PH stuff. If I have 5 weights on when I mow I have to use 4wd in places I could normally go in 2wd.

The loader will create what's called in the engineering world a "bending moment". Even with it mounted between the axles, it will essentially put enough torque on the frame to push down on the front axle and lift up on the rear. Imagine lifting the loader 12" off the ground, and them putting 4 tons of material in it. Then entire tractor would tip forward, because that's where the weight is applying force. I vote to remove the loader if it's an easy job

I vote take the Loader off. It takes weight off the rear end, where you need it most.

Another vote for dropping the loader. Pretty easy on those.

    Signing on...
I vote for leaving the loader on but there are variables that play in. Would you pull from the drawbar or the 3PH?
If you watch tractor/truck pulling the 2wd guys run some weight on the front too...it's just a matter of finding the right balance for the weight. Ideally you want the front wheels just barely on the ground or just off the ground. If they are firmly planted you are giving up weight transfer to the rear wheels and if the front wheels are up too far...well it gets complicated, but the geometry starts to work against you and things can get ugly quick!

Some years back our local county fair tractor pull included a International 10XX series tractor (tricycle front end) pulling in the "big boy class", he dumped the clutch under full throttle, the front end went straight up, he grabbed the clutch and the front end came down...HARD! Tractor split in half at the tranny housing, engine flopped over on the ground and lay there free revving at about 4-5K RPM (diesel)(redline on this tractor would have been low to mid 2K range stock) Boy you should have seen the people scatter. My buddy is a tech at the local Case/IH dealership run over and cut the fuel off before she scattered...I'll hafta see if I can find the video for y'all, it was actually on Americas funniest videos....

Ok, I finally found it...I think it may have actually been a 1266 or 1366? (16,000# class) And I remembered it wrong, the engine didn't flop over on its side I guess, its been a long time ago, '94 I think. Still a wild ride and the kind of stuff any tractor pull fan would kill to see live

I should mention that the Rzr's 4x4 is going to be near worthless if you guys are pulling off the draw bars. As soon as he mashes the throttle, the front is going to unload and he will have little to no traction on the front axle. If he weighs it down enough to counter this effect, he almost certainly is going to break something.

I think you are right, that's how I remembered it...goin on it side. The video that I seen on AFV was from the other side, and a little longer, but I couldn't come up with it
