You can find most anything you want about benefits on line. But if you go see a service representative, they can walk you right through it. So sorry to hear about your loss. I pray he is at rest now. you can move on from the stress you have been enduring.
Thank you JT, I got near there online and found the tombstone but was leaning medallion since he chose cremation. Yes, he did not say a word, except this man that loved every single animal on earth cringed at my pet rat. He said in Nam he was in pitch black in a small space and had to pick up a radio phone all the time, too many times there was a rat on it. That's the most I know, I stopped asking after I joined FHC and the veterans here guided me. I will also get some info on death benefits, his wife said he does not get them because it was only 4 years ?
wildwest , Go over to my Veterans Information forum and browse through there, many, many resources in that section. Also, there's a lot of help here! Vietnam Veterans of America
Did you see the middle where his wife said fun things? Ya, humor was solid anchor in their relationship. Thanks Larry, too late, caught a cold and feel like I was run over by a truck today. Looks like there is service center in the university here, easy to get lost on the website, though muddling through the results from a "benefit finder". I have the medallion ap forms to send in but I'd like to gather the correct documents and instructions for his wife as it looks like he is eligible for some things.
Military Honors by the local VFW was heartstopping. Such respect, love and emotion during, and not one dry eye in the room by after TAPS. We did not see the gun salute but it was near the outside doors and head in loud and clear.
