Finished with the limb wood this morning. Got another 3+ cords out by 11am. I then started looking at all of these large logs I need to haul so I used the tractor to load 3 of them up into the dump truck. Two of these are only 64” long because that’s all the tractor could lift high enough to get into the truck. The end log is cut to 80”. Hauled these home and that’s where I am now. Have a looong way to go with these bigguns.
That's a lot of work! You are getting it done quick. Run across any metal? That's standard for fence row trees around here. Thank goodness for dump trucks and tractors!
Yes sir, that's home, to me...lol... My Grandaddy owned the store when that picture was taken, before my time. Not sure who the guy is standing beside the car. We think that little boy is either my oldest brother or one of the neighbors sons. My dad bought the store from my uncle in '67 or '69, ao I grew up stocking the shelves there. My granddaddy started the original store in Goat Town in 1898.
I cut the stumps high because there’s barbed wire embedded in many of them. 60-70+ years ago, this field had cattle in it. Have avoided hitting any so far and I believe and hope that trend continues.
Was hoping to work this score some this weekend but deliveries are coming in quickly and I don’t want to get behind. 14 cords out the door this weekend and the rain from last night stuck around until early afternoon today.
It’s getting to that time where people are starting to order wood The rain days push us behind I am afraid I might run out of wood to sell It’s the big orders 10 plus that really make the wood piles shrink
I am sorry just caught it when you brought it to my attention I meant 10 face cords which is two trips with my dump trailer I do get 5 face cord orders also. People are starting to get all stocked up for winter
